Daniel Ricciardo crasht in kwalificatie

Voor Daniel Ricciardo eindigde de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan in mineur. De Australiër ging over de limiet en toucheerde muur in het laatste kwalificatiedeel. Ricciardo crashte op een lastig punt en dat zorgde voor een rode vlag situatie.

Ricciardo heeft het hele weekend al moeite om zijn Nederlandse teamgenoot Max Verstappen bij te benen. Waar de Nederlander eigenlijk continu in de top vier was te vinden in de eerste twee kwalificatiesegmenten, moest Ricciardo vaak een paar tienden toe geven op Verstappen.

In een poging zijn snelste rondetijd te verbeteren ging Ricciardo dus over de limiet. Het moment zag er vreemd uit en was vergelijkbaar met de crash die Verstappen gisteren meemaakte. In een poging te corrigeren brak de achterkant uit en reed Ricciardo de achterkant van de RB13 aan gort.
