Kevin Magnussen erg teleurgesteld na kwalificatie

Kevin Magnussen kende een veelbelovende derde vrije training en reed in Q1 een keurige tijd. Helaas voor de Deen zat de kwalificatie er toch op na Q1, aangezien de Haas VF-17 beschadigd raakte na een rit over de kerbs in de derde bocht. Magnussen laat weten te balen dat hij niet heeft kunnen laten zien waar Haas en hij toe in staat zijn in de kwalificatie.

Na de kwalificatie voelde Jack Plooij van Ziggo Sport Kevin Magnussen aan de tand: "Dit is natuurlijk niet wat je wil. Mijn eerste run was erg sterk en ik had vertrouwen in een goede kwalificatie na de goede laatste vrije training. Ik beschadigde echter de auto op de kerbstones in bocht drie, ik heb geen idee hoe dat daar kon gebeuren. Op andere plekken zijn de kerbstones veel extremer."
