De dag van het eerste F1-podium van Daniil Kvyat

Het is vandaag precies twee jaar geleden dat Daniil Kvyat zijn eerste podiumplek in de Formule 1 behaalde. Op 26 juli 2015 finishte de Rus namens Red Bull Racing als tweede in de Grand Prix van Hongarije, achter winnaar Sebastian Vettel. Kvyat eindigde daarna nog maar één keer in de top drie, in China 2016. Begin mei van dat jaar zette Red Bull hem terug van de hoofdmacht naar opleidingsteam Scuderia Toro Rosso, waar hij nu nog onderdeel van uitmaakt.

Rijden kan deze jongen echt wel. Kwaliteiten heeft hij, helaas zijn er de laatste tijd veel te veel fouten. Erg jammer, want talent heeft hij zeker. Naar mijn mening wél F1 waardig.

    Moeilijk geval, Kyvat. Heeft laten zien dat hij zeker kwaliteiten heeft, maar ook dat hij ongelooflijk onbeholpen kan zijn. Is hij langzaam maar zeker de rol van Maldonado aan het overnemen?

      Je vind het moeilijk om te oordelen? Dan zal ik je helpen: Deze Rus zsm vervangen door écht F1 waardig talent. Hij kan daarna optreden in het Russische staatscircus als levende torpedo.

    Jullie keken blijkbaar geen f1 toen Maldonado actief was. Maldonado crashde bij elk weekend wel een of meer keer. Kvyat heeft nu net twee slechte weekenden achter de rug.

    Ik snap niet waar die sympathie voor deze jongen vandaan komt. Hij komt op mij kil en arrogant over die duidelijk heel erg veel tekort komt om op absoluut topniveau wat de F1 is te presteren. Hij had allang de deur moeten zijn gewezen, maar dat die dit seizoen nog mocht rijden is volgens mij ook een beetje vanwege die brute maar terechte degradatie in het seizoen.
    Zijn fouten zijn echt talloos geweest afgelopen seizoenen en als je dan een enorme kwalificatie neerzet oke maar ook daar werd hij afgestraft door Sainz. F1 is geen liefdadigheid en we hoeven ook een medelijden met deze in Monaco woonachtige ruim gevulde Rus te zijn.

      Oh en dat die constant eigen fouten niet kan toegeven is op absoluut topniveau ook enorm zwak. Het lag steeds aan de remmen de laatste paar keer, dat doe je toch echt zelf...

    Scuderia Toro Rosso heeft 2 problemen, Kvyat die nog steeds baalt dat ie gedegradeerd is en Sainz baalt dat ie niet gepromoveerd is. Denk dat dit duo over zijn datum heen is.

      Echt zo, laatst las ik ergens in de reacties dat twee nieuwe rookies bij STR grote problemen zou geven maar in mijn ogen is het hoog tijd om twee nieuwe coureurs in de STR te zetten en het team weer gebruiken waarvoor het bedoeld is, nieuwe coureurs opleiden.

    Ik krijg niet de indruk dat Kvyat als een beest aan het trainen is zowel technisch als lichamelijk. Dat hij vorig jaar bijna stond te janken voor de camera vond ik echt sneu voor hem. Soms heeft hij sterke race's maar vaak door domme fouten/beslissingen krijgt het het voor elkaar om zichzelf en anderen van de baan te vegen. Het zal nooit een topper worden.
