Testdag Matsushita bij Sauber niet in gevaar ondanks afketsen Honda-deal

Formule 2-coureur Nobuharu Matsushita test volgende week woensdag 'gewoon' voor Sauber. De Japanner is verbonden aan Honda en werd geselecteerd om te testen vanwege de gesloten deal tussen Sauber en Honda voor de levering van motoren vanaf 2018. Gisteren werd bekend dat Honda en Sauber de overeenkomst hebben verbroken, maar de test voor Matsushita komt daardoor niet in gevaar.

Matsushita is al enkele jaren actief in de Formule 2, voorheen beter bekend als GP2. De Japanner is af en toe briljant, maar begaat ook nog wel eens domme fouten. Ondanks dat krijgt Matsushita toch een kans. Op dinsdag 1 augustus krijgt de Zweed Gustav Malja een kans om de Sauber C36 aan de tand te vallen. Malja is eveneens actief in de Formule 2.
