Mercedes krijgt het nog lastig als het niet verbetert

Het team van Mercedes krijgt het nog zwaar om de leiding in het kampioenschap voor constructeurs te consolideren als het zich niet op bepaalde punten weet te verbeteren. Die boodschap is afkomstig van coureur Valtteri Bottas. Mercedes legt het vooral op circuits waar veel downforce is vereist af ten opzichte van concurrent Ferrari.

Bottas: "De komende twee races zouden op papier beter voor ons moeten zijn dan Hongarije. Al denk ik wel dat we ook op langzame banen flinke progressie hebben geboekt. We hebben werk te doen. Ferrari is sterk in de bochten en daar moeten wij aan werken. We dienen ons maximum downforce-pakket te verbeteren, dat is het belangrijkste."

"Er zijn nog zat circuits die veel neerwaartse druk vereisen. Op Spa-Francorchamps draait het vooral om efficiëntie, op Monza is downforce niet echt van belang. In Singapore gaat het wel weer om downforce. We werken hard om de auto op dat punt te verbeteren. Slagen we daar niet in, dan krijgen we het nog lastig in de tweede seizoenshelft."

    Zolang het maar in de laatste race beslist wordt en het liefst in de laatste ronde:).
    Als kijker wil ik gewoon spanning!

    Na de Baku actie hoop ik wel iets meer op Hamilton dan op Vettel. Aan de andere kant geeft het Vettel zijn carrière wel extra glans door na 4 Red Bull titels ook in een Ferrari de titel te pakken en je kan het Ferrari alleen maar gunnen aangezien ze al 10 jaar droog staan.

    Ik hoop in ieder geval niet dat het Bottas met heel veel geluk wordt. Het doet het dit jaar erg goed maar qua snelheid komt hij vet tekort op Hamilton en Vettel. Sowieso vond ik Baku extra zuur omdat Hamilton toen met een wel heel lullig probleem veel punten verloren zag gaan.

    Het zal spannend worden. Ik ben het niet eens met degenen die zeggen dat Mercedes de achterstand "wel even" goed maakt. Ferrari heeft het lastig gehad maar ze zitten er gewoon bij en zijn constant genoeg om de 1e plek van Vettel vast te houden.

      Ferrari is niet constant genoeg in het behalen van overwinningen, dus wanneer Mercedes zo door gaat komt het kampioenschap er aan, zowel constructeur als coureur.

      Ja, alleen niet van 1 coureur speciaal....maar het totaal aantal behaalde punten spreekt in het voordeel van Mercedes ook al staan ze bij de rijders maar 14 punten achter.

      Ik weet niet waar dat op gebaseerd is, want vet staat 14 p voor in het wk.

    Gaat tot dusver gelijk op.

    De Mercs zijn nog steeds sneller maar het lijkt erop dat Ferrari er toch in slaagt om erbij te blijven.
    2de helft hoop ik dan mischien Red Bull erbij kan komen dan wordt het helemaal een feest !

    Het was een leuk toneelstukje, maar Hamilton wint alle resterende races met twee vingers in z'n neus.

      In Singapore en Brazilië zal ferrari denk ik ook sterker zijn dan mercedes. Maar het is een beetje afwachten wat de updates gaan brengen.
