Spa-Francorchamps lievelingscircuit van Verstappen

Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen heeft een vooruitblik op de Belgische en Italiaanse Grands Prix gegeven. Komend weekend rijdt de Nederlander in zijn achtertuin. Hordes Nederlandse fans trekken naar Spa-Francorchamps om hem aan te moedigen. En dat op een baan waar Verstappen dol op is. Hij staat te popelen om weer te racen.

Verstappen: "Ik kan niet wachten om dit jaar naar Spa te gaan. Ik hou gewoon van het circuit en het zal mooi zijn om zoveel oranje fans naast de baan te zien. Spa is mijn favoriete circuit op de kalender. Je moet alles goed krijgen, maar als je een goede ronde rijdt, geeft dat veel voldoening. Er is een goede flow met veel snelle bochten."

"Natuurlijk is het beste stuk de Eau Rouge, waar je de heuvel op gaat, ook al is het met de hedendaagse Formule 1-auto's makkelijk vol gas. Het is nog steeds erg mooi als de onderkant van de auto het asfalt raakt en de auto erg licht wordt bovenaan de heuvel. Dit jaar zal het met de nieuwe wagens overal een beetje sneller gaan, wat zeker nog uitdagender en nog leuker zal zijn."

"Het voelt absoluut aan als een thuisrace voor mij, omdat het dichtbij de grens is en omdat er nu geen Nederlandse Grand Prix is, komen er veel Nederlandse fans naar de race. Vorig jaar waren er al heel veel oranje t-shirts en vlaggen rondom de baan, wat erg mooi was om te zien en dat maakt het nog specialer."

Een week later staat de Grand Prix van Italië op het programma. Ook op een historisch circuit, maar wel een veel minder gunstige baan voor Red Bull Racing. "Na Spa gaan we direct naar Monza. Het is misschien niet de meest positieve baan voor ons op het gebied van topsnelheid, maar het is altijd goed om sfeer te voelen van de gepassioneerde fans daar", besluit Verstappen.

Om als coureur op te racen lijkt het me idd een favoriet van velen.
Als toeschouwer is het echter een van de slechtste circuits mogelijk :P
44 rondjes, zondag kaarten voor bronze duurder dan weekend kaarten voor tribunes in hongarije/duitsland/spanje.

  Heb nog 2 kaarten over voor de vrije trainingen op vrijdag, op de Max Verstappen-tribune. Was een verkeerde aanschaf van vrouwlief, we gaan het hele weekend. Laat maar weten wie er geïnteresseerd is...

  Zeker niet kwijt te raken die kaartjes... :-) Was ook absoluut niet de bedoeling om alleen die vrijdag te boeken, maar er was iets misgegaan. Tis ook niet zo'n drama, maar als iemand er toch heen wil, kan dat voor een zacht prijsje...

Minder rondjes, hogere prijs, slechtere zitplaatsen. Nee spa is als toeschouwer niet mijn favoriet. Eentje die je beter op TV kan kijken

  Als het regent in de ardennen kan het spoken als nergens anders.
  
  Hopelijk is de RedBull als auto/chassis net zo goed ondertussen als het RB12 chassis. De RB12 kwam eigenlijk alleen vermogen tekort, zodra vermogen geen rol speelde zoals in de regen was het het te kloppen chassis, zie brazilië.
  In Brazilië was Ricciardo op intermediates zijn snelheid de oorzaak van tactisch mindere keuze, maar wat spectaculaire televisie gaf

  Is dat zo? Het leek me anders toch dat Hamilton comfortabel Verstappen op achterstand hield. Sterker nog, Verstappen kon niet één keer een aanval plaatsen of zelfs binnen de seconde van Hamilton komen. Hamilton had die race in zijn zak, met of zonder bandenwissels van Verstappen.

Ik begrijp dat dit zijn lievelingscircuit is, maar voor de supporters mag er wel wat meer georganiseerd worden en kan de organisatie wel wat leren van bijvoorbeeld Oostenrijk, wat in de puntjes geregeld is.
