Verstappen incasseert 'rake' klappen van 124 boksers

Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen vertolkt de hoofdrol in de vandaag gelanceerde wereldwijde 'Energy to Perform'-campagne van zijn teampartners Esso en Mobil 1. De 19-jarige Nederlander neemt het in de video op tegen 124 zwaargewicht boksers.

Om de krachten te benadrukken die een Formule 1-coureur te verduren krijgt tijdens een race, brengen Red Bull Racing-partners Esso en Mobil 1 deze immense krachten in beeld. In een serie video's staat Max Verstappen tegenover 124 zwaargewicht boksers. Het equivalent aan G-krachten die hij te verduren krijgt in een gemiddelde Formule 1-race, in de bochten oplopend tot soms wel 6G. Vergelijkbaar met vliegen in een straaljager, of de lancering van een spaceshuttle.

"De confrontatie met 124 boksers was pittig, maar ook te gek", zegt Verstappen zelf in een persbericht. "Tijdens het raceseizoen ervaren we week in, week uit immense fysieke druk en uitdaging. Deze video laat onze fans op een energieke manier de impact van al die krachten ervaren."

"De trainingen hebben we voor dit seizoen bij moeten stellen, omdat de wagens fysiek zo uitdagend zijn om te besturen. Tijdens races worden de spieren in onze core, armen, borst en schouders zwaar belast, daar besteden we dan ook veel aandacht aan F1-wagens beschikken over stuurbekrachtiging, maar we hebben nog steeds een enorme kracht nodig in ons bovenlichaam om de race uit te kunnen rijden."

    Wat een onzinverhaal zeg, g-krachten of de impact van een goeie stoot zijn totaal niet te vergelijken, hooguit tegen een boom aan rijden of de impact bij een crash, en dan nog is t anders.

    Er staat op de site van het AD ook een stukje over, de verslaggever volgde ook een deel van het trainingsprogramma van Max en reed voor en na die training een stuk in een simulator, de keer na de training crashte de journalist al in de 1e bocht door vermoeidheid

    we moeten wat te zaniken hebben. Vond het wel een stoer filmpje, en duurde zo kort omdat ze bang waren dat de film vast zou lopen. En uhh, dat de Fransen beter kunnen voetballen dan auto's maken , wisten we ook al....

    vergelijking met een straaljager? . Ik heb nog géén F1 coureur met een G-suit gezien, wat waarschijnlijk wel nodig is als je 6 G trekt..

      Nee, de maximum g kracht in een straaljager is 9 G, die piloten kunnen ook 6 G aan zonder G suit.

      Die G-suit is dan ook om ervoor te zorgen dat de hersenen bloed houden, omdat de G krachten in een straaljager hoofdzakelijk verticaal werken. In een F1 wagen zijn het laterale krachten. Die zijn met een G-suit niet op te lossen.

      Tenminste... als ik het goed begrepen heb.

      Russische piloten op o.a. de Su-27 staan er ook om bekend vaak geen G-suit te dragen ondanks dat ook zijn 9 G trekken. Ze vinden het niet 'stoer' om zo'n pak aan te doen.
