Charles Leclerc maakt kennis met Sauber C36

Een tijdje geleden maakte Sauber bekend dat Charles Leclerc een aantal vrije trainingen voor zijn rekening zou nemen in de slotfase van het seizoen. Leclerc is een kandidaat voor een stoeltje bij het Zwitserse team en maakte in de eerste vrije training kennis met de C36. De Monegask kon niet rijden, aangezien de sessie pas na een half uur op gang kwam in verband met de hevige regenval. Ondanks de beperkte tijd op het circuit is Leclerc blij met het verrichtte werk.

"Ik moet zeggen dat ik heel erg tevreden ben met mijn eerste kennismaking met de auto van Sauber. Het was jammer dat ik niet veel kon rijden, maar de omstandigheden waren voor iedereen gelijk. Het was in het begin lastig vanwege de natte baan, maar ik kwam al vrij snel in een goed ritme. Sauber is blij met mijn werk en ik kijk uit naar de volgende keer dat ik weer mag rijden met deze auto", aldus Leclerc op de officiële website van Sauber.

Leclerc ligt op koers om kampioen te worden in de GP2. Vanwege zijn link met Ferrari is de kans groot dat de Monegask volgend jaar een van de Saubers zal versturen. Middels vrije trainingen wil Sauber Leclerc alvast ervaring laten opdoen. De volgende keer dat Leclerc in actie komt is tijdens de eerste vrije training voor de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten op het Circuit of the Americas in Austin.

Leclerc. De enige man die de komende tien jaar echt een gevreesde tegenstander van Max kan zijn.
Natuurlijk Hamilton en Vettel zijn nu nog de men to beat maar Lewis is in 1 op 1 gevechten niet zo eng en stopt met een jaar 3 wel. Misschien wel eerder.
Vettel is een dwaas en heeft het eeuwige leven ook niet. Alonso is wel eng in 1 op 1 maar heeft gewoon de auto niet meer en zal ook nog maar 2 of 3 seizoenen meegaan. Eerder 2 dan 3.
Ocon is snel. Die zal een goede auto hebben en succesvol kunnen worden maar in het gevecht is Max gewoon zijn meerdere.
Leclerc is denk ik de enige die Max angst kan inboezemen. Zoals Michael aangaf alleen Hakkinen ooit gevreesd te hebben.
Laat maar snel debuteren die knaap, die heeft in de opstapklassen geen ene moer meer te zoeken.

  Inderdaad. Leclerc Ocon Gasly Verstappen zijn de nieuwe generatie toppers straks. Over een tijdje behandelen een aantal hier hen als Massa nu. Giovinazzi kan er ook bij wat mij betreft. Daarna weet ik het niet zozeer.

  @rimmer je vergeet toch wel ricciardo hoor, die doet het zeker niet onder voor van verstappen. zelfs als je al die uitvalbeurten door motorische problemen van max omzet naar een overwinning dan staat ricciardo nog steeds voor in punten dit jaar. en ricciardo kan zeker nog een jaartje of 6 mee.

  Rare gedachte petertje. Als max zijn punten had gepakt dan moet je punten afnemen van ricciardo. Aangezien hij er meestal achter zat

  Alhoewel Vandoorne misschien meer gevreesd moet worden dan Rowland. Die gaat ook nog wel wat laten zien.

Hoop op mooie dingen volgend jaar bij Sauber. Een re-brand naar Alfa Romeo zou al helemaal top zijn.
