Daniel Ricciardo: "Nog te vroeg om te zeggen wat Aston Martin gaat doen"

Eerder deze werd bekend dat de Britse autofabrikant Aston Martin en Red Bull Racing de samenwerking uit gaan breiden. Aston Martin is met ingang van 2018 de titelsponsor van de Oostenrijkse renstal. Aston Martin zou plannen hebben om vanaf 2021 een eigen motor te gaan bouwen. Volgens coureur Daniel Ricciardo is het nog te vroeg om te zeggen wat Aston Martin precies gaat doen bij zijn team.

"Het enige wat ik weet is dat ik dankzij Aston Martin in een mooie straatauto rijdt en dat dat volgend jaar ook zo zal zijn. Mijn contract met Red Bull loopt eind volgend jaar af, het is nog te vroeg om te zeggen wat ik daarna ga doen. Ook weet ik niet wat Aston Martin allemaal gaat doen binnen dit team, als het een technische samenwerking betreft dan zullen we natuurlijk wel vooruitgang moeten boeken", aldus Daniel Ricciardo.

De wegen tussen Renault en Red Bull lijken zich aan het einde van volgend jaar te gaan scheiden. Zusterteam Toro Rosso stapt volgend jaar al over naar motoren van Honda.
