Jolyon Palmer: "Kregen de banden niet aan het werk"

Voor Renault-coureur Jolyon Palmer zat er niet meer in dan een dertiende tijd tijdens de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Japan. De Brit reed in de derde training nog een tiende tijd, maar in de kwalificatie kreeg Renault het niet voor elkaar. Veel maakt het volgens Palmer niet uit, aangezien hij toch achteraan start vanwege een gridstraf.

"Het was een rommelige laatste run, ik had wat momenten. Ik kreeg de banden niet aan de praat. Veel maakt het niet uit, aangezien we toch achteraan starten. Het gemis van een tweede DRS-zone maakt voor ons maakt het ook lastig, maar ik denk dat we nog steeds een leuke race kunnen hebben. Onze snelheid in de lange runs was best wel goed namelijk", aldus Palmer in gesprek met Jack Plooij van Ziggo Sport.
