Max Verstappen: "Plek zes waarschijnlijk maximaal haalbare"

Vanaf een startplek in de achterhoede staat Max Verstappen een inhaalrace te wachten op het Circuit of the Americas in Texas. De jonge Nederlander start de race op een set superzachte banden en hoopt door een lange eerste stint te rijden flink terrein goed te kunnen maken. Verstappen tekent voor een plek bij de eerste zes, maar hoopt op meer.

De jonge Nederlander beseft dat hij van heel goede huize moet komen om het podium te halen: "Om op het podium te komen hebben we heel veel geluk nodig, bijvoorbeeld een Safety Car of veel uitvallers. Realistisch gezien moet een plek bij de beste zes haalbaar zijn, maar een en ander is natuurlijk afhankelijk van hoe snel ik naar voren kan rijden. De auto voelde in de lange runs goed aan, dat schept vertrouwen."

    Als men realistisch is zou plek 6 het hoogst haalbare zijn voor Max. Maar gaat Vettel echt het gevecht aan om nog wereld kampioen te worden, dan zouden er zo maar een paar wagens van de baan kunnen schuiven en komt het podium heel dicht bij!

    Na de 1e 3 bochten liggen er al 5 auto's uit, vettel ramt ham en neemt daardoor bot mee. Door die ellende knalt massa op brokstukken en neemt die weer perez mee. ?
