Toto Wolff geeft team complimenten voor winnen constructeurstitel

Mercedes haalde tijdens de Grand Prix van Amerika zijn vierde constructeurstitel op rij en teambaas Toto Wolff neemt bij Sky Sports F1 na de race de felicitaties in ontvangst.

Wolff: "Ik ben zo enorm blij en the gang in de fabrieken hebben zo'n geweldig werk geleverd. Zij hebben er 24/7 aan gewerkt en offers gebracht om dit te bereiken. Ik ben zo blij." De Oostenrijker wordt voorgelegd dat het dit jaar eigenlijk moeilijker was, maar dat met name ook betrouwbaarheid na de zomer break Mercedes de wereldtitel bracht. Daarop zegt hij: "Het is de nieuwe realiteit dat de teams dichter bij elkaar zijn komen te liggen en ook Red Bull doet nu mee. Dat zal zo tot het einde van het seizoen gaan, maar ook volgend seizoen."

Over de leider in de strijd om de wereldtitel zeg Wolff: "Lewis is echt op zijn allerbest op dit moment en na de zomer heeft hij ook geen fouten meer gemaakt. Hij is snel op de zaterdagen en ook zijn bandenmanagement was vandaag weer erg goed. Maar ik wil hem er niet uithalen want het deze wereldtitel is echt een teamprestatie. Het team heeft de wagen snel en betrouwbaar gemaakt en Lewis kon het in de race perfect afmaken."
