Olielek zorgt voor vroegtijdig einde training Max Verstappen

Met de snelheid zit het vooralsnog wel goed bij Red Bull in Mexico City. Daniel Ricciardo reed de snelste tijd, Max Verstappen kwam tot een derde tijd. De Nederlander miste in de tweede sessie wel belangrijke baantijd vanwege een motorisch probleem.

De problemen bij Verstappen hebben vooralsnog geen gevolgen voor het vervolg van het weekend. Verstappen reed met een oude motor en zal morgen en zondag rijden de motor die hij in Austin liet monteren. Christian Horner over de problemen bij Verstappen: "Helaas moesten we eerder stoppen vanwege een issue met de motor. De motor van Verstappen verbruikte meer olie dan benzine, maar gelukkig was het een oude motor. Max liet ons weten tevreden te zijn met de auto en hij zal de verloren tijd van vandaag morgen wel weer inhalen."

Verstappen was niet de enige met problemen: ook bij beide auto's van Toro Rosso waren er problemen met de motor.
