McLaren verwelkomt Kimoa als 'official surfwear partner'

Het team van McLaren heeft een nieuwe partner weten te strikken. Het gaat om Kimoa, het zonnebrillen- en kledingmerk van niemand minder dan McLaren-coureur Fernando Alonso. De samenwerking gaat begin 2018 van start. Het logo van Kimoa komt op de auto's van McLaren en op de overalls en helmen van de coureurs te staan.

Alonso: "Als tweevoudig wereldkampioen die al zestien jaar in de Formule 1 racet, is het soms moeilijk om nieuwe uitdagingen in het leven te vinden. De oprichting van Kimoa heeft me frisse energie gegeven en ik geniet ervan om de adrenaline en sensatie van dit nieuwe avontuur te ervaren. Kimoa is een opwindend project waar ik met een aantal vrienden aan begonnen ben."

"Samen hebben we het merk ontwikkeld en het weerspiegelt onze stijl en onze filosofie. Ik ben verguld met de samenwerking tussen Kimoa en McLaren. Om ons logo volgend jaar op Formule 1-auto's te zien zal de mede-oprichters en mij extreem trots maken."

McLaren-directeur Zak Brown: "In al mijn gesprekken met Fernando dit jaar heb ik gemerkt hoe toegewijd hij is om van Kimoa een succes te maken. Hij beschouwt dit als een ambitieus persoonlijk project dat prima aansluit op zijn activiteiten als coureur. Als onze nieuwe 'surfwear partner' past Kimoa prima naast andere kledingmerken die we al dan niet nog aan ons sponsorportfolio toe zullen voegen."
