Acronis niet alleen vanwege Sirotkin sponsor van Williams

Acronis spreekt tegen dat het enkel en alleen een samenwerking met Williams is aangegaan omdat de Britse renstal Sergey Sirotkin vastgelegd heeft voor 2018. Het  softwarebedrijf was eerder aan Scuderia Toro Rosso verbonden toen Daniil Kvyat daar nog reed.

Kvyat is echter door Red Bull/Toro Rosso op straat gezet en dus ging Acronis op zoek naar een andere partner. De keuze viel daarbij op Williams, nog voordat dat team Sirotkin had gecontracteerd. Dat beweert Acronis-baas Serguei Beloussov in gesprek met Championat.

"We waren al veel eerder begonnen met onderhandelen met Williams. Sergey zat toen nog bij Renault en hij had daar kunnen blijven of naar Toro Rosso kunnen verhuizen. Onze overeenkomst met Williams staat los van die van Sirotkin. Natuurlijk is de aanwezigheid van Sergey wel een pluspunt en een extra reden om de voorkeur te geven aan Williams", aldus Beloussov.

    Waarom bagatelliseren ? Laat de media toch lekker denken dat ze Sirotkin persoonlijke sponsor zijn. Geeft meer tegenwicht aan Lance.

    Wat moet je allemaal naar buiten brengen om vooral niet te zeggen dat hij gewoon een paydriver is.
    Ook bij renault konden ze zijn centjes gewoon goed gebruiken kan me niet voorstellen dat hij in beeld is geweest bij TR hij komt niet uit de jeugd opleiding.

    vorig jaar toen Kvyat bij Toro Rosso reed, waren ze daar sponsor, nu zit Sirotkin bij williams ( heel toevallig ook een rus ) en zijn ze daar nu sponsor.

      Lekker belangrijk! Altijd goed dat sponsors in de F1 stappen. Niemand heeft er wat aan als teams failliet gaan vanwege het gebrek aan sponsors.
