Bottas heeft geen tijd of energie voor nevenactiviteiten

Mercedes-coureur Valtteri Bottas vindt het bewonderenswaardig dat McLaren-collega Fernando Alonso de Formule 1 dit jaar combineert met een volledig seizoen in het World Endurance Championship. Zelf moet de Fin er niet aan denken van alles door elkaar te doen.

Bottas deelde aan Ilta Sanomat mede: "Als Fernando denkt dat hij er de tijd en de energie voor heeft, dan moet hij het vooral doen. Misschien wil hij nieuwe dingen uitproberen omdat hij al zo lang actief is in de Formule 1 en toe is aan iets nieuws. Maar op dit moment ga ik niet aan nevenactiviteiten naast de Formule 1 beginnen. Ik focus me liever volledig op de Formule 1."

"We hebben 21 races voor de boeg en wat mij betreft is 25 Grands Prix per seizoen wel de absolute limiet. Logistiek gezien wordt het bij 25 evenementen al passen en meten. We moeten niet uit het oog verliezen wat we van de teamleden vergen en bovendien gaan de kosten van de teams dan ook weer omhoog, omdat ze extra personeel aan moeten trekken."

Bottas heeft zeker te maken met de kosten, hij moet betaald worden en als hij meer gp's moet rijden wordt er meer betaald. En de mensen die extra belast zouden worden werken ook samen met bottas dus daar heeft hij dan ook mee te maken;)

Alsof Bottas maar iets te maken heeft met de kosten, logistieke werkzaamheden en de mensen die daardoor belast worden... Alonso hoeft volgens McLaren alleen maar te rijden.

  Bottas komt volgens dit artikel met argumenten waarom hij náást de f1 geen tijd en energie wilt steken in een ander project. Dat heeft niks te maken met de quote die ik gekopieerd heb. Die alinia is totaal geen argument waarom die verder naast de f1 niets wilt doen, maar dat heeft betrekking op het F1 kalender die hij afwerkt met zijn team mercedes, en eventuele uitbreiding daarvan... in plaats van een project naast de F1.
  
  Ik wilde alleen maar aangeven dat dat stukje argumentatie niets te maken heeft met de kop van dit artikel.

Natuurlijk heeft Bottas er alles mee te maken.
Wij zien ze enkel het eind resultaat, 44 tot 77 rondjes rijden..VT en Q ... maar achter de schermen gebeurt en natuurlijk veel meer.

Plus het feit dat de ene sporter zijn kracht uit zijn/haar sport en de ander juist door extra afleiding/ontspanning. Dat geldt ook voor onszelf.

Bottas is uiteraard ook een heel ander persoon dan Alonso. Wat niveau betreft is hij wellicht te vergelijken met Webber en de Aussie zette ook vraagtekens bij de nevenactiviteiten van Alonso.

Maar net als Webber zit Bottas ook aan te hikken tegen de top. Hij komt nog zoveel tekort in de ogen van de Mercedes-teamleiding dat hij alle energie nodig heeft om zo goed mogelijk op zijn F1-job gefocust te kunnen zijn.

Zoals al vaker aangegeven geldt voor Fernando zo’n beetje het tegenovergestelde: door het extra racen blijft hij scherp en het geeft hem extra energie.
