Hamilton gaf voorzet bij deal Tommy Hilfiger en Mercedes

De sponsordeal tussen Mercedes en Tommy Hilfiger is mede tot stand gekomen door Lewis Hamilton. De Brit is een fan van het New Yorkse modemerk en bracht het team en de kledingmaker in contact, zo bevestigde Toto Wolff.

Hamilton staat bekend als modeliefhebber en is een uitgesproken fan van Tommy Hilfiger. Wolff: "Lewis zorgde afgelopen zomer voor het contact. Het is een merk dat hij fijn vindt en wij zijn daarna in staat geweest om de samenwerking te bewerkstelligen."

Contractverlening Hamilton 'binnen afzienbare tijd'

De meerjarige deal tussen Tommy Hilfiger en Mercedes lijkt ook een opening te bieden voor het team om Hamilton langer aan zich te binden. Tegenover Sky Italia gaf de viervoudig wereldkampioen aan dat hij hoopt dat het contract binnen afzienbare tijd getekend wordt. "We werken nog aan een aantal ontbrekende details, want we willen het goed doen. Het hangt er ook vanaf voor hoeveel jaar we het contract willen verlengen, maar ik hoop dat alles voor de Grand Prix in Australië in kannen en kruiken is."

    Ik zal wel a-typisch zijn, maar meestal koop ik bij voorkeur juist geen producten die F1 sponsoren. Daarvan weet je namelijk zeker dat je een flinke marketing bonus betaalt. Dan heb ik liever een vergelijkbare kwaliteit zonder die flauwekul.

      Je betaald bij de merkproducten altijd voor het grootste deel gebakken lucht, lijkt me sterk dat de Hilfiger kleding nu met f1 sponsoring opeens duurder wordt..
      Dat gezegd hebbende, merkkleding zit altijd nét ff wat beter, je komt er beter mee voor de dag dus ik geef het er over het algemeen wel aan uit.....
      En met goedkope vodden aan m'n lijf zouden mensen Jean nog aanzien voor een of andere stakker.... ;)

      Gelukkig zit er nog een ruime bandbreedte tussen TH en goedkope vodden.
      Wat dat betreft moet ik denken aan een voorval vorige week toen ik ben wezen skiën. Ik zag daar een vrouw met een modieus skipak. Het was vrij aannemelijk dat ze talloze winkels was afgestruind en uren en uren aan het komen tot deze keuze had besteed. Maar eenmaal bovenop de piste was het een ratjetoe aan stijlen en deed ieder zijn eigen ding en keek geen hond naar haar om.

    Hij was vorig jaar al gespot bij de presentatie van de nieuwe collectie van Tommy Hilfigger in Amsterdam dus dat er iets aan zat te komen werd al vermoed.
