Hockenheim verwacht 10.000 Nederlandse fans bij Duitse GP

Hockenheimring-directeur Georg Seiler is zeer positief over hoe de kaartverkoop voor de Grand Prix van Duitsland tot nu toe verloopt. Er zijn al veel meer tickets over de toonbank gegaan dan in hetzelfde stadium twee jaar geleden, toen het evenement voor het laatst op de Formule 1-kalender stond. Dat is mede te danken aan de populariteit van Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen.

Seiler legt aan Motorsport-Magazin.com uit: "De kaartverkoop verloopt voorspoedig. We hebben al rond de 50.000 kaarten verkocht. Dat is ongeveer 30 procent meer dan rond dezelfde tijd voor de race in 2016. Dat staat waarschijnlijk in verband met ons nieuwe prijssysteem, waarin kaarten vooral voor kinderen gunstig geprijsd zijn. En ook Max Verstappen draagt eraan bij. We verwachten 10.000 Nederlandse Formule 1-fans. Er is zelfs een heuse Max Verstappen-tribune."

"Een Nederlands ticketbureau heeft een grote bestelling voor kaarten geplaatst. Die kaarten zijn over meerdere tribuneblokken verdeeld. Het geheel, zo'n 2.000 plaatsen, wordt omgedoopt tot Max Verstappen-tribune. Als al die fans in het oranje gekleed plaatsnemen op de tribune, zal het effect van die tribune pas echt goed zichtbaar worden."

Die Nederlandse fans zullen in het voorprogramma geen Formule 2 of GP3 te zien krijgen. "We hebben ons ook afgevraagd waarom dat is", geeft Seiler toe. "We zijn daar laat over geïnformeerd en we waren erdoor verrast. We gingen ervan uit dat we de Formule 2 en de GP3 wel zouden ontvangen. Ons is medegedeeld dat de kalenders van beide opstapklasses reeds uitpuilden. De fans hoeven echter niet te wanhopen, we zullen een mooi voorprogramma met andere series samenstellen."

  Maak daar maar 10002 van! We zullen die Duitsers eens laten zien hoe je een held aanmoedigd! Vettel krijgt zo weinig mensen naar het circuit dat ze Hockenheim van de kalender af moeste schrappen, dan komen wij het uit Nederland wel voor Max!

  Als we Abiteboul moeten geloven, zijn ze tegen die tijd 4 seconde per rondje sneller dan Mercedes.
  
  Update: Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid levert de Renault-motor tegen die tijd zo'n 1200 pk.
  
  Update: Wegens het gebruik van enkele onderdelen uit het jaar 2016 hebben ze ivm de betrouwbaarheid de motor toch maar teruggedraaid naar 750 pk.
