Overzicht: Bandenselectie voor Azerbeidzjan 2018

Bandenleverancier Pirelli heeft bekendgemaakt welke keuzes de teams en rijders hebben gemaakt met betrekking tot de setjes banden voor de vierde race van het seizoen 2018, de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan. De Italiaanse bandenfabrikant stelt per weekend drie compounds beschikbaar, waarvan een coureur er in de race twee moeten gebruiken. Voor het weekend op het circuit van Bakoe zijn zacht, superzacht en ultrazacht de beschikbare compounds.

Ferrari heeft van de topteams de meest agressieve keuzes gemaakt voor de Azerbeidzjaanse Grand Prix, met tien setjes ultrazacht. Red Bull Racing is met acht setjes ultrazacht voor beide coureurs het meest conservatief geweest van de grote drie en Mercedes zit daar met negen setjes ultrazacht tussenin. Ook beide Sauber-coureurs en McLaren-rijder Stoffel Vandoorne beschikken in Bakoe over tien setjes ultrazacht. Dit is het overzicht van de bandenselectie voor Azerbeidzjan 2018.

  Ze hadden wat mij betreft wel opnieuw de supersoft over mogen slaan en dit weekend in gaan met S, US en HS. Met alleen HS en US in de race is een 1-stopper onmogelijk lijkt me en krijg je dus of een twee stopper of een een stopper met de Soft band.

Ik denk dat de coureurs met 1 setje van een bepaalde band nog wel eens in de problemen kunnen komen. Als het team op strategie wil winnen heb je gewoon minder keus.
