Ricciardo en Coulthard ook van de partij bij Jumbo Racedagen

Max Verstappen zal in mei niet de enige publiekstrekker zijn voor de Jumbo Racedagen op het circuit van Zandvoort. De Red Bull Racing-coureur krijgt namelijk gezelschap van teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo en voormalig Formule 1-rijder David Coulthard.

Het drietal zal in het pinksterweekend het nodige rubber verbranden in demonstraties met een Red Bull Racing-auto van een paar jaar geleden. Daarnaast staan er het nodige racespektakel om de Formule 1-demo's heen op het programma tijdens de Jumbo Racedagen 2018.

Speciaal voor dit evenement heeft Red Bull een nieuw onderdeel bedacht, genaamd de Red Bull Caravan-race. Verstappen en Ricciardo raceten vorig jaar al met caravans over de Red Bull Ring en dat leverde toen hilarische beelden op. Red Bull zag er wel een concept in.

Verstappen en Ricciardo laten het racen nu over aan anderen. De Red Bull Racing-coureurs vormen dit keer alleen de jury. Degene met de mooiste caravan mag de race vanaf pole position aanvangen. Om een startbewijs te bemachtigen dien je een slappe lach-video in te sturen.

De Jumbo Racedagen, driven by Max Verstappen vinden dit jaar plaats op 20 en 21 mei.

      Prachtig MASF1, lijkt me superleuk voor jou om dat op YouTube te bekijken! En n leuk idee dat ik daar live bij was. Ik was fan van die grote witte amerikaan [camaro?] die toen meedeed.

      Mijn Opa heeft twee keer met het achteruitrijden mee gedaan bij ter land ter zee... Blauwe kever, met een gele streep eroverheen! :) Ik weet niet of het nog is, maar in die tijd 80/90ger jaren was er een heus kampioenschap achteruitracen. Mooie tijden waren dat! Daar is alle ellende met betrekking tot auto-, en motorsport begonnen voor mij als kind! ;)

      @BSCHUIT,

      Ja, er zijn er nogal wat gesneuveld in die jaren. Mooie tijden, evenals de omgang van mensen gedurende zo'n weekend. Uiteraard doet een ieder zijn/haar best, echter als er iemand een onderdeeltje nodig heeft wat kapot is gegaan tijdens hetzelfde weekend, dan zijn er altijd wel mensen/teams die je helpen daarmee, en zorgen voor een vervangend onderdeel.. Zelf enkele jaren 125CC tweetakt gereden, ook daar flinke competitie, echter ook wederom diezelfde manier van omgang met mensen. Hoe hoger je komt, hoe minder dat wordt.. Dat dan weer wel! ;)

    Caravan-race een nieuw onderdeel? Damn dat was er al toen ik nog in kort broekske en sandalen naar de kleuterschool stapte, en dat is al bijna een halve eeuw geleden.....
    Als ze echt iets nieuws willen, Maar die caravans airo-dinamisch, koppel dan zo'n caravan achter een oude F1 bolide en gaan met die banaan. Kan André weer schreeuwen "M'n gras, m'n grasssssssssss" :P
