Gridstraf voor Charles Leclerc na versnellingsbakwissel

Sauber-coureur Charles Leclerc viel in de slotfase van de derde vrije training, net als Red Bull-coureur Max Verstappen, stil met een technisch probleem. Naar nu blijkt betreft het een probleem geweest te zijn met de versnellingsbak en daarom heeft Sauber besloten de bak van de talentvolle Monegask te verwisselen.

Het vervangen van de versnellingsbak levert Leclerc een gridstraf van vijf plaatsen op. Voor Leclerc zijn de druiven zuur: net als in Frankrijk leek het Ferrari-talent mee te kunnen doen voor een plekje in het laatste kwalificatiedeel.
