Ricciardo wacht waarschijnlijk straf voor Duitse Grand Prix

De kans is groot dat Daniel Ricciardo tijdens de Grand Prix van Duitsland een gridstraf krijgt opgelegd vanwege het wisselen van motoronderdelen. De Australiër zou eigenlijk in Frankrijk al onderdelen wisselen, maar vanwege de snelheid die Red Bull op dat circuit had, werd de motorwissel uitgesteld.

Volgens Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner is Hockenheim de eerstvolgende logische plek voor een motorwissel en dus een gridstraf voor Ricciardo. Red Bull wil in ieder geval voorkomen dat het op de Hungaroring een straf moet incasseren.

"Hopelijk hoeft het niet dit weekend, maar waarschijnlijk incasseren we een straf op Hockenheim, aangezien we er een willen voorkomen in Hongarije", aldus Horner tegenover Autosport. "De Hungaroring is een goede mogelijkheid voor ons, aangezien dat circuit weinig van het vermogen vergt. Hopelijk strijden we daar om de winst."
