Coureurs verdeeld over mogelijkheid tot vol gas door eerste bocht op Silverstone

Het is maar de vraag of de eerste bocht op Silverstone komend weekend vol gas genomen kan worden door de Formule 1-coureurs. Dat stellen Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen en Charles Leclerc tijdens de officiële persconferentie voorafgaand aan de Britse Grand Prix.

"ik betwijfel of het kan, maar iedereen zal het proberen", aldus Hamilton. "Max zal het eerste gaan en daarna zal de rest het ook proberen." Volgens de Mercedes-rijder is het niet eenvoudig om vol gas door de eerste bocht te rijden. "Het is best hobbelig in de eerste bocht, dus we zullen zien."

Ook Verstappen en Leclerc waren aanwezig tijdens de persconferentie. Volgens Verstappen hangt het vol gas rijden door de eerste bocht van meerdere factoren af. "Ik denk niet dat ieder team het kan", aldus de Nederlander. "Ik ga het wel proberen, maar het hangt ook van je banden en hoeveelheid vleugel af."

Sauber-coureur Leclerc is minder optimistisch over de mogelijkheid om de eerste bocht vol gas te nemen: "Ik denk niet dat het mogelijk is, maar ik ga het wel proberen", luidt het antwoord van de Monegask. De eerste training voor de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittanië staat morgen om 11.00 uur Nederlandse tijd op het programma.

      Als Max het echt gaat proberen, kan hij het best morgenvroeg om 11:05u doen.
      Dan blijft er voldoende tijd over om zijn bolide te herstellen.

      Tja, Max heeft er de auto voor maar Lewis ook. Met deze uitspraak zegt hij eigenlijk, ik kijk eerst of Max het er goed vanaf brengt, voor ik het zelf ga proberen. Als het bij Max misgaat, heb ik een concurrent minder en hoef het zelf niet te doen.

    Als het 1 auto kan dan is het de RBR wel .. van nature veel downforce .. je kan toch veel tijd winnen in Quali als het lukt!

      Rustig opbouwen en de baan inrijden en afstelling wagen op orde krijgen. Als er genoeg op de baan gereden is en de banden werken goed kan ie eerst gewoon vol gas gaan en ik denk dat Max weer met minder downforce zal rijden en kleinere achtervleugel. DRS in bocht blijft een risico maar het is de vraag of rijders als Max en Lewis de auto kunnen houden als ie uitbreekt

      schijnt dat Max wel met een kleinere achtervleugel rijd dan Daniel (zag ik gister op zijn instagram account).
      Dus Hij levert wel wat downforce in om snelheid te winnen, hij voelt zich kennelijk goed in de RB14 en heeft voldoende mechanischegrip om downforce op te offeren.

      Gaat zeker interresant worden :-)

      Uhm, ik zou zoiets toch eerst eens in een training doen. Als het in de kwali mislukt en hij vliegt eraf kan die een goede kwali en race wel vergeten. Gebeurt het in VT1 dan kunnen ze zijn bolide tenminste op tijd repareren.

    Hamilton wordt nog maatjes met Verstappen in Frankrijk al lol met elkaar nu schijnbaar weer buiten het feit dat Max de laatste weken de nodige punten bij Vettel weghaalt

      Hij zit lekker in zijn vel, op het moment. Dat kun je zien. Al zegt hij dat we nergens op moeten rekenen, omdat de baan niet zo goed is voor de RBR. Naar mijn gevoel is hij aan het sand baggen. Oostenrijk zou toch ook niks worden? Wat er daar gebeurt is, kan dit weekend zo weer gebeuren.

      Ik wilde je bijna verbeteren door te zeggen dat er in 2011 nog geen DRS was, maar ff opgezocht en dat was het eerste jaar met DRS ;)
      Maarre dat waren toen nog wel andere wagens, qua uiterlijk en qua motoren.... Die wagens in 2011 hadden een lagere bochtensnelheid dan de wagens van nu..... Dat valt dus niet echt te vergelijken.....

    Is natuurlijk een “dare” van Lewis naar Max toe, ook geeft hij toe dat hij eerst afwacht hoe dat Max is vergaan.
    Zonder DRS easy flat, met DRS? Zal er vanaf hangen hoe efficient de vloer is en blijft in downforce creëeren
