Commercieel directeur Formule 1: "Alonso graag behouden als ambassadeur"

Sean Bratches, de commerciële baas van de Formule 1, hoopt dat Fernando Alonso ook na dit seizoen aan de sport verbonden blijft als ambassadeur. Dat stelt Bratches in gesprek met het AD. Volgens de Amerikaan is Alonso een legende en daarom waardevol voor de Formule 1.

Alonso kondigde onlangs aan de Formule 1 te verlaten na dit seizoen, voornamelijk omdat de sport volgens hem te voorspelbaar is geworden. Bratches snapt de mening van de Spanjaard. “Sinds 2015 hebben maar drie teams een Grand Prix gewonnen, dus Alonso heeft gelijk. Tegelijkertijd zijn er kansen om de sport juist minder voorspelbaar te maken", stelt Bratches.

Toch hoopt de commerciële baas van de Formule 1 dat Alonso de sport niet volledig de rug toekeert. "Ik hoop dat wij Alonso kunnen behouden als ambassadeur, zodat die helpt om deze geweldige sport vooruit te brengen, want hij heeft veel voor de sport betekend en is een held en legende."

      2006 ook twee teams die GP”s wonnen, net als 2007 en 2009.

      2012 had 6 verschillende teams die een wedstrijd wonnen.

    Ik zie Alonso niet als geschikt persoon hiervoor om eerlijk te zijn. Iemand die zich zo negatief uit kan laten over zijn team enz., die moet je niet als ambassadeur willen hebben.

    Het uithangbord van de Indycar die Formule 1 ambassadeur wordt. Logisch.

    Van alle coureurs is hij ook altijd het meest beschaafd over de boordradio, echt een voorbeeld voor aankomende talenten.

      Zal ongetwijfeld sarcastisch bedoeld zijn, maar je slaat de plank redelijk mis want als Alonso kritisch is doet ie dat inderdaad beschaafd.
      Ken er een heel zooitje die daar nog wat van op zouden kunnen steken.
      Altijd keurig in woordgebruik, wellicht soms scherp, maar altijd netjes verwoord, vaak met enige humor gelardeerd.
