Di Montezemolo: "Geruchten over Vettel betekenen helemaal niks"

Luca di Montezemolo heeft nog maar eens geruchten ontkracht dat Sebastian Vettel in de nabije toekomst zal verhuizen van Red Bull Racing naar Ferrari. Tijdens de teampresentatie van Ferrari in Maranello afgelopen vrijdag vertelde Di Montezemolo dat de geruchten helemaal niks waard zijn.

Al langere tijd wordt Vettel in verband gebracht met een overstap naar Ferrari om daar teamgenoot te worden van Fernando Alonso. Vettel's contract bij Red Bull Racing loopt eind 2011 af, maar volgens Di Montezemolo is er geen sprake van dat de Duitser dan naar het Italiaanse team zal verhuizen. "Ik hoop zelfs dat de volgende Ferrari-coureur uit ons opleidingsprogramma zal komen. Dat zou betekenen dat het echt een hele goede coureur moet zijn", aldus de Italiaanse Ferrari-president.

Di Montezemolo vertelde nog een laatste zin over Vettel: "Er is absoluut niks gaande tussen ons, behalve dan dat we hem hebben gefeliciteerd met zijn wereldtitel en de manier waarop hij wist te profiteren in de laatste race in Abu Dhabi."
