Lichte handblessure baart Alonso zorgen in drukke periode

De spectaculaire startcrash van de Grand Prix van België heeft de betrokken coureurs geen zware blessures opgeleverd. Toch heeft Fernando Alonso drie weken na de crash wel last van zijn hand. Dat vertelde de Spanjaard in Singapore.

Alonso werd bij de startcrash van achteren gebeukt door Nico Hülkenberg, waarna de McLaren van de Spanjaard over de Sauber van Charles Leclerc gelanceerd werd. Dat heeft Alonso pijn in zijn hand opgeleverd. "Ik dacht dat mijn hand beter zou voelen, maar ik heb nog steeds evenveel pijn. Dat is apart. Door de adrenaline voel ik tijdens het rijden niets. Tijdens alledaagse dingen als tandenpoetsen doet het wel een beetje pijn."

Wat Alonso niet gaat helpen in zijn herstel is zijn drukke schema. In de komende elf weken staan er negen races in de Formule 1 en het WEC voor hem op het programma. Deze reeks wordt volgens de Spanjaard zwaarder dan een soortgelijke reeks die hij eerder dit seizoen afwerkte. "Ik denk dat deze reeks nog zwaarder gaat worden, omdat de races niet dicht bij elkaar zijn."

"Toen ik acht opeenvolgende weken reed, was dat op Silverstone, Paul Ricard, in Oostenrijk en Le Mans, dus ze waren allemaal in Europa", vervolgt Alonso. "Nu gaat dat gebeuren in Japan, de VS, Brazilië, China en Abu Dhabi, wat het iets veeleisender maakt. Het wordt pittig. Hopelijk ben ik goed voorbereid en ik zal mijn best doen."

Alonso is niet de populairste op dit forum en de redenen zijn reeds vaak opgesomd, maar ik kan alleen maar bewondering voor deze man hebben.

  natuurlijk heeft hij een arrogante kop, maar ik heb zelden een coureur met zoveel passie gezien. Denk nog eens aan zijn uitstapje naar de Indy race.., de "wereld" stond stond op zijn kop, langer geleden de kampioenschappen in F1 en nu weer het project "triple crown'.., de man ademt racen, wil alles winnen. Wat je ook van hem als persoon mag denken (en kennen we hem eigenlijk wel als persoon?), een racer pur sang.

  Ik ben persoonlijk helemaal niet enthousiast over Alonso, maar het is wel een vakidioot die mooie dingen heeft gedaan. Ik heb dus ook wel bewondering voor die man.
  Maar ik ben allesbehalve fan van hem.

Alonso heeft een heel indrukwekkende F1-carrière gehad, waar menig coureur heel jaloers op zou zijn!!! Hopelijk geniet ie nog ff van z'n laatste paar races in een F1 bolide!

Is toch heel wat, zo'n giga crash en 1 man een beetje pijn in de hand, daar zijn ze toch allemaal goed vanaf gekomen.
De Formule 1 wagens zijn tegenwoordig zó veilig.
