Ferrari ook in Japan met agressieve bandenkeuze

Ferrari heeft dit seizoen doorgaans een agressievere bandenkeuze dan de concurrentie en daar komt in de Grand Prix van Japan over twee weken geen verandering in. Er wordt in het Aziatische land geen bandencompound overgeslagen en dat betekent dat van hard naar zacht de mediums, de softs en de supersofts worden gebruikt.

Tussen Mercedes en Ferrari zit dit seizoen vaak een groot verschil qua bandenkeuzes en dat is in Japan niet anders. De Ferrari-coureurs hebben maar liefst tien setjes supersofts afgenomen, terwijl Mercedes opteert voor zeven setjes van het zachtste rubber. Ferrari heeft weinig andere banden afgenomen, terwijl Mercedes toch nog vier setjes softs en twee setjes mediums gaat meenemen.

Wat verder nog in het ook oog springt is dat het team van McLaren een volledig andere keuze heeft gemaakt dan de rest van het veld. Vier setjes supersofts, vijf setjes softs en maar liefst vier setjes mediums neemt het Britse team mee. Het team van Red Bull heeft onderling een klein verschil. Ricciardo heeft voor een iets agressievere strategie gekozen ten opzichte van Verstappen.

    Ik geloof dat men het verschil niet begrijpt tussen een offensieve en een agressieve bandenkeuze. Dat laatste bestaat helemaal niet.
    Of het moet een setje zijn waarbij men gegarandeerd op anderen inrijdt.

      Een aanval is een offensief. Men kan ook agressief verdedigen. Een zekerebelgse Hollander schijnt er wat van te kennen :)
