Lauda wil in Abu Dhabi terugkeren in de Formule 1

Niki Lauda heeft als doel gesteld om tijdens de seizoensfinale in Abu Dhabi terug te keren in de Formule 1. Dat nieuws wordt gebracht door oud Formule 1-baas Bernie Ecclestone, die door Lauda werd gebeld nadat hij het ziekenhuis had verlaten na zijn longtransplantatie.

"Hij doet het goed gezien de omstandigheden. Hij zegt dat hij zich veel beter voelt, dat hij veel pillen moet innemen en gedisciplineerd moet zijn. Zijn geheime plan is om in Abu Dhabi terug te keren. Het is ongelooflijk wat hij heeft moeten doorstaan. Dat verdient hij niet", aldus Ecclestone tegenover het Zwitserse Blick.

Helmut Marko, een andere goede vriend van Lauda, hoopt dat Ecclestone gelijk heeft. "Ik had me dat nooit voor kunnen stellen", zegt Marko tegenover Bild. "Hij heeft altijd een doel in zijn hoofd en zorgt ervoor dat hij die behaalt. Dat is typisch Niki Lauda."

      Altijd dezelfde man gebleven recht voor zijn raap en een topcoureur. Hoop dat ie nog lang bij Mercedes zit om af en toe commentaar te geven en Max als opvolger van Lewis te zien schitteren.

    Ouwe knokker!
    Mn eerste F1 held, icoon bij Ferrari, beste coureur van de jaren 70 en liet begin 80 nog ff zien dat ie t nog kon. Hij en Prost waren net zo aan elkaar gewaagd als Senna en Prost, alleen niet die strijd. En hij kwam gewoon terug voor de poen :) Kan je nagaan hoe goed hij toen dus nog was.
