Sauber tevreden over testdag ondanks crash van Perez

Sauber kende een gemengde tweede testdag in Jerez. Sergio Perez reed een goede ochtendsessie, maar kwam later op de dag in aanraking met de bandenstapels. Ondanks de crash keek technisch directeur James Key tevreden terug op de testdag.

"Over het algemeen genomen was het een goede testdag, maar jammer genoeg ging Sergio van de baan af in de middagsessie", vertelde Key. "Hij verloor de achterkant van de auto toen hij op harde banden reden. Jammer, maar deze dingen gebeuren nou eenmaal in testsessies en het hoort bij het leerproces. Sergio heeft al een goede stap voorwaarts gemaakt en heeft ons erg nuttige informatie gegeven."

Perez voegde daaraan toe: "Ik ben oké, maar vind het jammer voor het team dat ik gecrasht ben. Ik verloor de achterkant in de zevende bocht en verloren daardoor natuurlijk veel tijd. Ik hoop dat de rest van de testdagen goed verlopen voor Kamui en dat hij maar veel ronden mag rijden. Ik heb vandaag weer veel geleerd."
