Er werd dit weekend regen voorspeld op Interlagos en hoewel de luchten tijdens de kwalificatie en race dreigend waren, vielen er alleen in de kwalificatie wat druppels. Die hadden echter weinig effect. Sergio Perez scoorde in Brazilië 1 punt, maar had gehoopt op wat regen tijdens de race.

"Ik had echt gehoopt dat we tijdens de race wat regen zouden krijgen", zegt Perez. "Gedurende de race keek ik naar de wolken en die werden steeds donkerder, maar uiteindelijk bleef het droog. Ik denk niet dat we de racesnelheid hadden om op het droge meer punten te scoren. Ik moest al vroeg benzine sparen en het was gedurende de rest van de middag een vrij eenzame race."

"Onze strategie werkte goed en de tiende plek was het hoogst haalbare. Het is jammer dat we niet meer punten konden scoren, maar hopelijk kunnen we het seizoen in Abu Dhabi met een beter resultaat eindigen", kijkt de Mexicaan alvast vooruit naar de seizoensafsluiter.
