Szafnauer: "In komende twee jaar 125 nieuwe werknemers bij Force India"

Racing Point Force India wil in de komende twee jaar flink uitbreiden. Teambaas Otmar Szafnauer verklaarde bij RaceFans dat het team in die periode 125 nieuwe personeelsleden gaat zoeken.

In augustus werd Force India overgenomen door een consortium onder leiding van Lawrence Stroll. De Canadese zakenman beloofde toen al dat er flink in de toekomst van het team geïnvesteerd ging worden. De afgelopen twee seizoenen werd het team al vierde in de constructeurs en dat was dit jaar ook weer mogelijk geweest, als de overname in de zomer niet geleid had tot verlies van alle punten in het constructeurskampioenschap. Die vierde plek wordt wel weer het doel in 2019 en dat moet volgens Szafnauer met verse manschappen bereikt worden.

"Toen ik begon bij Force India, waren er 280 werknemers. Nu zijn we boven de 400. Ik zie ons in de komende twee jaar naar meer dan 500 werknemers groeien, dus we gaan nog 100, 125 man aannemen. We willen ons team altijd versterken en we weten waar we versterking en uitbreiding nodig hebben. We gaan met veel beschikbare mensen praten, maar we doen het wel strategisch. We moeten het ook doen op gebieden waar we snel ontwikkelingen op de auto kunnen krijgen. Dat doen we in de komende jaren."

"Er zijn een aantal dingen die we meteen willen oppakken", vervolgt Szafnauer. "We moeten de communicatie verbeteren en de tijd tussen concept en het plaatsen op de auto moet korter. Ook hebben we meer ideeën nodig hoe de auto sneller kan. Dat moet door de groep die ideeën bedenkt uit te breiden en de tools verbeteren waardoor de correlatie met de realiteit beter is. Als dat eenmaal zo is, heb je meer vertrouwen in je tools en kan je vaart zetten achter de ontwikkeling."

  Ze zullen vooral technische mensen zoeken, en die zijn in Nederland dun bezaait, daar zal deze website niet veel van afwijken (waarschijnlijk wel iets meer dan gemiddeld).
