Testupdate Abu Dhabi (4): Kubica en Stroll in actie

Lance Stroll heeft zijn eerste meters in de Racing Point Force India-auto gereden. De Canadees maakt vandaag zijn debuut voor de renstal waarvan zijn vader mede-eigenaar is. Ook Robert Kubica is inmiddels ingestapt in de Williams. De Pool vervangt deze middag George Russell. Russell kwam tot 42 ronden en was exact 2.7 seconden langzamer dan Sebastian Vettel. Ferrari heeft de schade inmiddels gerepareerd en ging rond in een tijd van 1:36.812.

Max Verstappen heeft er tot op dit moment 58 ronden op zitten. Hij zal vanmiddag opnieuw plaats nemen achter het stuur van de RB14. Sean Gelael blijft zijn rondjes draaien en is inmiddels al 71 keer rond geweest.

Toch vreemd dat TR een jongen als GELEAL in de wagen zet,terwijl er genoeg te testen valt met de Honda motor,oftewel ze nemen het lekker serieus maar niet heus.

  MADMAX33 ; Sorry maar je zegt dat die S.Gelael er niks van bakt, dat zelfs matig te noemen te goed zou zijn, maar als ik naar het lijstje kijk hierboven in het artikel staat hij met dat matige tot slechte optreden wel als 7e van de 12 op die lijst, met Norris, Raikkonen, Fittipaldi, Stroll en Kubica daar achter ( ook niet de minste dacht ik ) en dan ook nog de meeste rondes gereden, 71 ronden.
  Dus lijkt het me niet zo slecht, het is om de banden te testen, data verzamelen. ( en hij heeft in elk geval de auto op de baan gehouden ??? )

ik snap niet dat ze Max niet even in de toro rosso gezet hebben om de Honda aan de tand te voelen

  Heeft totaal geen meerwaarde. Alles is anders aan de TR. Chassis, systemen. Daarnaast hebben ze de Honda functionaliteiten al in de simulator gehangen, waardoor eigenlijk nu al getest kan worden.

  De Honda die in de RBR 15 komt te hangen is van een heel andere architectuur, en dus een heel andere motor. Heeft dus ( zoals Liki nauda al aangaf ) geen meerwaarde.
