Poolse minister verdedigt het sponsoren van Kubica

Polen heeft de financiële investering in de terugkeer van Robert Kubica in de Formule 1 verdedigd. De Pool keer volgend jaar na een afwezigheid van acht jaar terug in de sport en dat werd dus mede en wellicht ook voor een groot deel mogelijk gemaakt door zijn sponsoring.

Slechts een paar dagen na het tekenen van Kubica voor 2019, heeft Williams ook bekendgemaakt dat het Poolse oliebedrijf PKN Orlen het Britse team gaat sponsoren. 

De regering van Polen is, met bijna 28 procent van de aandelen in handen, PKN Orlen's grootste aandeelhouder. De stap om Williams te gaan sponsoren wordt nu verdedigd door de Poolse minister van Sport, Witold Banka, een voormalig 400 meter sprinter. "Veel bedrijven zijn er achter gekomen dat het beter is om sporters direct te sponsoren", aldus Banka tegenover Wilkowicz Sam na Sam. 

Grand Prix-winnaar Robert Kubica keer na acht jaar terug in de Formule 1, maar doet dat met een permanente blessure aan zijn rechterarm. "Robert Kubica wekt emoties op over de hele wereld en hij is misschien wel de meest bekende Pool die er is. Het is gerechtvaardigd om te investeren in zo'n verhaal."

      Ik wil het eerst nog wel eens zien met Kubica. Om op voorhand al te roepen dat het een afgang wordt vindt ik te vergaan. Wanneer Kubica in 2018 in de auto had gezeten hadden ze vast meer punten binnen gehaald en was de auto beter door ontwikkeld.

      @Langduscher Je weet dat Kubica ooit door zijn collega's (Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel) als het grootste talent van de F1 werd beschouwd. Dat is een paar jaar geleden, maar los van zijn blessure heeft zijn huidige achterstand waarschijnlijk toch voornamelijk te maken met gebrek aan ritme.

      @RJH paar jaar geleden? Als hij in maart start is zijn rally ongeluk meer dan 8 jaar ervoor gebeurd. Dat Kubica een zeer goede coureur was zal biemand ontkennen. Maar zi een lange onderbreking en fysieke problemen...dat wordt niets.

    Nu dus alle hulp aan Polen in welke vorm dan ook direct stoppen, als er al geld is om een F1 rijder te helpen, helpen ze zichzelf verder ook maar.

      @BSCHUIT Shell betaald blijkbaar geen winstbelasting, ING, ABN, REAAL en RABO zijn overeind gehouden met staatsteun. In Duitsland zijn BMW, Volkswagen en Deutsche Bank ondersteund en die laatste staat weer op klappen. Doe nou niet alsof het alleen die fransen, overal zitten die grote organisaties de wetgeving te beinvloeden en door vage constructies belasting te ontlopen of illegale subsidies te pakken.
