Race Of Champions voegt Stadium Super Trucks toe aan programmering

De Race Of Champions heeft voor de editie van 2019 twee nieuwe bolides aan het wagenpark toegevoegd. De Stadium Super Trucks en de SPEED XX UTV, beiden creaties van Robby Gordon, maken in Mexico hun opwachting.

De trucks en de SPEED XX UTV zullen tijdens het hoofdevenement gebruikt worden, maar krijgen na afloop van de reguliere programmering ook nog een eigen race. In beide gevallen worden er op het circuit in het Foro Sol in Mexico-Stad aluminium schansen neergelegd worden. Die eigen races zullen volgens hetzelfde man-tegen-man-format verreden worden als de Race Of Champions zelf.

Geestelijk vader Robby Gordon, veelvuldig deelnemer aan de Dakar-rally en voormalig NASCAR- en IndyCar-coureur, is blij dat zijn creaties in Mexico het circuit mogen betreden. "We zijn vooral blij met de eigen races die de Stadium Super Trucks op zaterdag en zondag krijgen. Voor veel coureurs en fans wordt het hun eerste kennismaking met deze auto. De trucks hebben 650 pk en kunnen tot wel een voetbalveld ver springen, dus het wordt hoe dan ook spannend."

De Race Of Champions wordt op 20 en 21 januari verreden in het Foro Sol-stadion in Mexico-Stad.
