Sainz is van plan om advies te vragen aan Alonso

Carlos Sainz gaat volgend jaar voor het team van McLaren rijden en wanneer hij het nodig heeft dan kan hij de telefoon oppakken en om advies vragen aan zijn landgenoot Fernando Alonso. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen rijdt volgend jaar zelf niet in de Formule 1, maar kan dus wel een telefoontje verwachten.

"Ik ga zeker advies vragen aan Fernando Alonso. Ik kijk er naar uit om met hem af te spreken om hem wat vragen te stellen over de Formule 1 en McLaren en ook om niet alleen als Formule 1-rijder met hem te praten, maar hopelijk ook wat meer als vriend."

"Het is vreemd om plotseling vaarwel te moeten zeggen tegen zo'n getalenteerde rijder die nog steeds in zijn beste vorm zit", zegt de Spaanse McLaren-coureur tegenover de officiële Formule 1-website.

"Maar Fernando heeft een voordeel dat hij één van de beste rijders in de wereld is. Wanneer hij van gedachten verandert, dan kan hij zo terugkeren als hij wil. Dat is fijn voor hem. Ik wil gewoon dat hij gelukkig is en dat hij een plek kan vinden waar hij zijn talent kan tonen en het naar zijn zin kan hebben."

    Is dat nu armoede van een Sainz in de rol van ervaren coureur bij McLaren?
    Ik snap het ergens wel, maar voor een beetje eigenwaarde is toch veel mooier om de dingen zelf voorelkaar te krijgen.
    Natuurlijk is hij afhankelijk van wat voor materiaal hij onder zijn r..t gaat krijgen, maar zelf het verbeteren met de ingenieurs en in sleeptouw de rookie meenemen.
    Dat ook een McLaren overweegt Alonso de 2019 te laten testen. Pfff

      MCL heeft amper geld alles hangt af of ze een goede auto ontwikkelen in de winter is het niks dan is het uitzingen tot het eind,ook dit jaar was er geen geld voor updates er is weinig verdient in het constructeurs klassement dus het word weer sabelen.
      Hoop wel dat saintz norris op zijn plaats kan zetten net als Russel worden die helemaal opgehemeld in de Britse pers.

      Dat is een flink stukje uit je duim gezogen. McLaren geen geld? Geen geld voor updates? Hoe kom je in hemelsnaam aan deze informatie?

      McLaren heeft na de top 3 het hoogste budget. Meer dan Renault. De aandeelhouders kunnen er extra geld inpompen als zij het noodzakelijk achten. Aan geld absoluut geen tekort in ieder geval. Daarnaast hebben ze afgelopen jaar meer geld verdiend met hun eindpositie bij de constructeurs dan het jaar ervoor.

    lol die Sainz houd zich wel heel veel bezig met Alonso zeg.. Jezus, er is echt geen grotere fanboy in de f1 dan Sainz met zijn Alonso..

    Ik heb zo'n vaag vermoeden dat McLaren de laatste werkgever van Sainz in de Formule 1 gaat worden. Ik denk ook niet dat het een hele lange arbeidsrelatie gaat worden.

    Sainz bibbert bij de gedachte dat hij 1e rijder is en een team moet dragen. Hij is daar bij lange na niet klaar voor, als hij al ooit zover komt. Hij blijft maar met klamme handjes de hand van Alonso vasthouden. Pffftt..ik heb er niet veel vertrouwen in.

      Nou hebben Spanjaarden een niet geheel vlekkeloze geschiedenis m.b.t. religieuze bemoeienissen. Maar ja, NL heeft zijn VOC gehad en andere donkere zaken.
      Maar dat McLaren en Sainz hun heil zoeken in Alonso als de Verlosser.
      Twijfelachtig.

    Zolang hij Alonso niet vraagt voor welk team hij moet rijden komt het goed. Alonso in meervoudig kampioen verkeerde keuzes maken Mbt team kiezen.
