Wolff benadrukt impact van Schumacher op de Formule 1

Zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 Michael Schumacher viert vandaag zijn 50e verjaardag en Mercedes-teambaas Toto Wolff heeft nog maar eens benadrukt hoe groot de rol van de Duitser is geweest in het Mercedes-succes van de afgelopen jaren.

Schumacher reed tussen 2010 en 2012 voor het Duitse team, in zijn tweede periode in de koningsklasse van de autosport.

"Er is geen andere coureur zoals hij en zijn jarenlange ervaring heeft enorm bijgedragen aan de ontwikkeling van ons team. Hij speelde een cruciale rol toen hij terugkeerde in de Formule 1 en is één van de mensen die de fundering heeft gelegd voor ons toekomstige succes", zegt Wolff tegenover Motorsportweek.

"We zijn extreem dankbaar voor alles wat hij voor ons heeft gedaan. Vandaag willen we Michael dan ook feliciteren met zijn verjaardag. Hij heeft een gigantische impact gehad op de Formule 1. Niet alleen heeft hij een ongelooflijk record neergezet die nog niet is gebroken, maar hij heeft de sport ook voor altijd gevormd en veranderd."

"Als rijder heeft Michael de Formule 1, met zijn aandacht voor detail en technische kennis, naar een compleet nieuw niveau gebracht. Hij deed alles met grote vastberadenheid, van zijn technische besprekingen tot zijn fysieke training en was altijd op zoek naar nieuwe manieren om zijn prestaties op het circuit te verbeteren."

Schumacher is simpelweg de allerbeste coureur ooit.
Hij tilde de F1 eigenhandig naar ongekende hoogte..en de periode waarin Schumacher reed zal de geschiedenis ingaan als 'The Golden era".

Een groot kampioen...altijd welbespraakt en correct...nooit zijn status gebruiken om iemand te dissen...altijd bescheiden.

Zijn feedback die hij gaf na het rijden van een aantal ronden was ongekend goed ...hij wist de auto altijd perfect af te stellen..zelfs als het een hok van een wagen was wist Schumacher ermee te scoren.

Laten we met z'n allen blij zijn dat we hem hebben meegemaakt watn van dit kaliber was er maar 1 en dat is Schumacher.

Alle loftuitingen zo lezende zou men haast gaan denken dat Michael Schumacher niet meer onder ons is.
