Grosjean ziet Japanse Grand Prix als zijn beste wedstrijd van 2018

Romain Grosjean zegt dat zijn achtste plaats tijdens de Grand Prix van Japan op Suzuka zijn beste wedstrijd van vorig seizoen was. De Fransman bemachtigde die vier punten namelijk in een beschadigde auto.

De coureur van Haas liep al vroeg in race schade aan zijn ophanging op en dat zorgde ervoor dat zijn auto naar rechts trok wanneer hij op het gas ging. Niettemin reed Grosjean naar de achtste plek en hij ziet dit dan ook logischerwijs als zijn beste prestatie van het seizoen.

"Suzuka was een goede race van mijn kant. De auto was aardig beschadigd in de vierde of vijfde ronde. We hadden brand aan de achterkant van de auto en daardoor smolt de ophanging", laat Grosjean aan RaceFans de problemen horen waar hij tijdens de race mee te maken had.

"Wanneer ik gas gaf dan kreeg de auto een afwijking naar rechts. Iedere keer wanneer ik door de 130R bocht ging, dacht ik: 'Kom op, alsjeblieft, blijf op de baan.' Ik wist niet wat er aan de hand was, maar ik wist dat er iets gebroken was. Daarom was dit echt een goede race van mijn kant."
