Mercedes verwacht wat betreft inhalen weinig veranderingen in 2019

Bij het team van Mercedes zijn ze het erover eens dat de Formule 1 er op dit moment niet best op staat op het gebied van inhalen. Vooral de banden worden door Lewis Hamilton en zijn teambaas Toto Wolff als de hoofdschuldige gezien en laatstgenoemde vraagt zich af of de situatie volgend jaar gaat verbeteren.

"Op dit moment is het voor auto's erg moeilijk om elkaar te volgen, omdat je downforce verliest, de band verliest zijn grip en daardoor staat het er niet goed voor op het gebied van inhalen. Wanneer je kijkt naar de juniorenklassen, bijvoorbeeld de Formule 2, dan wordt er eigenlijk best leuk geracet. Zij zijn wel in staat om dicht naast elkaar te rijden."

"Het doel was om wat aerodynamica weg te halen en om de luchtstroom over de auto te laten lopen, maar je vecht tegenover 2000 aerodynamica-specialisten in alle teams en ik denk dat we oplossingen hebben gevonden om de luchtstroom rondom de auto te laten gaan. Dus het gaat niet ongelooflijk veel veranderen", zegt Wolff tegenover Crash.

Lewis Hamilton is het eens met zijn teambaas. "Wanneer je achter een andere auto komt, dan verlies je een groot percentage aan luchtstroom, omdat de auto het dan blokt. Dus het komt meer aan op de mechanische grip van de banden en dat is een gebied dat we constant willen verbeteren. De banden zijn eigenlijk onmogelijk te begrijpen. Het is een wetenschappelijk iets wat we constant proberen te ontwikkelen en te begrijpen, aangezien het een onbekend gebied is."

Blufpoker. RB begon hiermee en die zeiden als eerste dat ze al heel veel downforce hebben gevonden in de nieuwe regels. Ferrari heb ik er nog niet over gehoord maar nu dus ook Mercedes. eerst zien dan geloven. Misschien bluffen ze allemaal wel.

  Misschien moet je het zo zien dat Mercedes het qua bandenslijtage en mechanise grip nog niet echt voor elkaar kunnen krijgen.
  
  Christian Horner had eerder ook al gemeld dat het heel weinig verschil uit zou maken om in te halen met de nieuwe vleugels , maar wel in de kosten .

Toto gaat er gewoon vanuit dat ze voorop rijden alleen weet ik niet of ze dat nu nog wel kunnen met die 12 pk die ze hebben gevonden. Voor mijn gevoel komt dit jaar de ommezwaai en denk ik dat ze het voor het eerst zins het trubo tijdperk moeilijk gaan krijgen om zo dominant te zijn .

Hamilton met zijn oeverloze gezeur over de banden, omdat hij het op dat gebied niet voor elkaar krijgt.

Hamilton kan niet overweg met zijn banden?? Resultaat 4x wk op 5 jaar gelukkig speelden de banden tegen anders start hij op kop en halverwege de koers was hij reeds winnaar en kon hij op tv de tweede over de streep zien rijden
