Arrivabene opnieuw gelinkt aan CEO-rol bij de Italiaanse voetbalclub Juventus

In de nasleep van zijn vertrek bij Ferrari, lijkt het erop dat Maurizio Arrivabene zich nog dieper gaat begeven in de wereld van het voetbal. Aan het begin van de week werd bekendgemaakt dat zijn rol als teambaas bij Ferrari overgenomen zou worden door Mattia Binotto.

In oktober vorig jaar waren deze geruchten er ook al en toen werd verkondigd dat hij de Formule 1 zou gaan verlaten, omdat hij een rol geaccepteerd zou hebben bij de Italiaanse voetbalclub Juventus. De grootmacht in het voetbal heeft connecties met de aan Ferrari gelinkte Agnelli-familie.

Tijdens de Japanse Grand Prix van vorig jaar zei Arrivabene er nog het volgende over: "Ik ben al jarenlang bestuurslid bij Juventus, zelfs voordat ik deze rol (teambaas) bij Ferrari had aangenomen." Nu Mattia Binotto Arrivabene vervangt als teambaas bij Ferrari, zijn de geruchten echter weer terug.

Corriere dello Sport zegt dat het op de planning staat dat Arrivabene op woensdag afspreekt met Juventus-president Andrea Agnelli. Het zal dan gaan om een full time-baan bij de Serie A-club. De Italiaanse krant laat weten dat Arrivabene een kandidaat is om Guiseppe Marotta op te volgen. Marotto legde in oktober 2018 zijn functie als CEO van Juventus neer.
