Lowe: "Benieuwd om te zien hoe Kubica gaat presteren"

Paddy Lowe, de technisch directeur van Williams, gelooft dat Robert Kubica aankomend seizoen de juiste man is voor het team van Williams en hij denkt daarnaast dat het Britse team er een groot voordeel aan gaat hebben dat Kubica al eerder in de Formule 1 heeft gereden.

"We weten niet hoe hij gaat presteren en ik denk zelfs wanneer je het Robert zou vragen dat hij zou zeggen dat hij het niet weet. Hij is erg vastberaden en het zit in zijn bijzondere karakter om terug te keren in de Formule 1", zegt Lowe tegenover RACER.

"We weten allemaal wat er is gebeurd en ik vind het dan ook bewonderenswaardig. Wij kijken er allemaal naar uit om te zien hoe het zich gaat ontvouwen. We weten het allemaal niet en dat is ook onderdeel van de interesse en de opwinding, vooral vanuit Polen."

"Hij heeft nog niet eens gereden, maar zij zijn zo'n beetje de meest toegewijde fans in de wereld en zitten ook overal op de tribune, zelfs in de regen. Dat terwijl Robert niet eens meedeed. Iedere race zijn er groepen met Poolse mensen. Ik heb ze ontmoet en ze willen allemaal handtekeningen", benadrukt Lowe het enthousiasme van de Poolse fans.

Ik hoop echt dat Kubica het fantastisch doet, maar ergens vrees ik dat hij er te lang uit is geweest om nog aan te halen bij de nieuwe generatie. Helemaal los van zijn handicap dus.
