Max Verstappen kijkt uit naar de samenwerking met Honda

Max Verstappen heeft voor de Red Bull-camera's vooruitgeblikt op het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen. Verstappen heeft veel zin in het nieuwe seizoen en hoopt op een goed pakket van Honda en Red Bull.

Op de vraag wat Verstappen tijdens de winterstop heeft gedaan antwoordde hij als volgt: "Ik heb een heleboel tijd thuis doorgebracht. Ik heb een aantal dagen niks gedaan," vertelde Verstappen. "Ik heb flink getraind in januari en februari, je wil elk jaar natuurlijk sterker en beter worden. Maar ik heb geen andere dingen gedaan, wel iets meer kracht en meer duur."

"Ik kijk enorm uit naar de start van het seizoen," verklaarde Verstappen. "Ik wil weten hoe het team te werk zal gaan. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar het nieuwe pakket met Honda en het nieuwe chassis. Daar kijk ik echt naar uit. De winter heeft heel lang geduurd. Na drie weken wilde ik al weer terug in de auto. Ik wil het beste uit mezelf halen. Ik wil nog niet echt een doel stellen voor het nieuwe seizoen. Formule 1 is afhankelijk van het pakket wat je hebt. Ik zal altijd mijn best doen en er voor gaan."

Verstappen vertelde het volgende over de nieuwe regels betreffende de aerodynamica voor 2019: "De grootste veranderingen liggen aan de voorvleugel, ze zijn groter geworden. Ik weet niet of deze regels zullen helpen om het inhalen te bevorderen. Ik denk dat er niet veel zal veranderen op dat gebied."

"Ik kijk enorm uit om plaats te nemen in de RB15. Ik ben ontzettend benieuwd naar de nieuwe motor. Hoe de motor werkt, hoeveel vermogen hij heeft en of er goed mee te rijden is." Over Gasly vertelt hij het volgende: "Ik heb goede herinneringen aan Pierre, die komen van het karten. Nu zitten we in de Formule 1, we zijn beide volwassen geworden als coureur. Maar de Formule 1-wereld is anders ten opzichte van de kart-wereld. Ik ben goed met Pierre, het zal geen nadeel zijn dat we beide jong zijn. Ik denk dat ik op mijn ervaring kan leunen. Het team is ook ervaren en dat zal ons beide helpen."

Verstappen kijkt uit naar de fans en verwacht veel van Honda. "Ik kijk uit naar Spa, ik zal er niet harder door gaan rijden, maar het is erg leuk. Ik ben ontzettend optimistisch, maar ook realistisch over de samenwerking met Honda. De toekomst zal uitwijzen hoe het zal gaan," eindigde de Red Bull-coureur.

Gewoon nog heel voorzichtig dus. Ik moet het ook nog maar even zien. Volgende week weten we al een beetje meer. Het kan er allemaal heel goed uitzien maar op de baan zelf moet het gaan gebeuren.

Nou, ik heb vandaag iets gelezen over een of andere k*tjanus die zich "pit reporter" durft te noemen.....

Natuurlijk kan Max goed opschieten met Pierre, ze kennen elkaar al jaren.

Binnenkort is hij uitgekeken naar de toekomst. Of kijkt hij dan uit naar de toekomst van de toekomst? Als hij maar uitkijkt en uit blijft kijken. Het uitzicht ziet er in iedergeval uiterst goed uit.
