Formula 1 zal vrijdagtrainingen niet afschaffen

Formula 1 zal op korte termijn de vrijdagtrainingen niet afschaffen. Dat verklaarde Francois Dumontier, de baas van de Canadese Grand Prix in de Canadese media.

Dit jaar zullen de onderhandelingen over het Concorde-akkoord van 2021 in het middelpunt van de belangstelling staan. Er zijn al langere tijd geruchten dat het format betreffende de raceweekenden zal worden omgegooid. Tevens moet het puntensysteem op de schop en krijgen ingenieurs een bepaald tijdslot waarbij ze aan de auto mogen werken.

Dumontier probeerde de berichten in de media over een 'oorlog' tussen de promotors en Liberty Media te bagatelliseren: "Het is benadrukt door de media, maar wat we hebben gedaan was meer een suggestie geven. Wij waren absoluut niet van plan een revolutie te ontwikkelen," benadrukte hij.

Volgens de Canadees is er ook geen aanleiding om de vrijdagtrainingen te schrappen: "Het is een idee, maar dat zal echt niet op korte termijn gebeuren. Sommige Grands Prix hebben deze vrijdag nodig om rendabel te zijn. Het is ook een 'goedkoper' alternatief voor de Formule 1-fan om de auto's te zien rijden. Er werd twee weken geleden tijdens de meeting in Londen niet eens over de 'vrijdag' gesproken."

Landgenoot Lance Stroll, coureur bij SportPesa Racing Point, zei dat hij het idee om punten uit te delen tot en met de vijftiende plaats wel ziet zitten: "Elke coureur geeft alles wat hij op het circuit heeft, dus ik denk dat elke coureur beloond moet worden voor zijn inspanningen op het circuit."

Ben ook blij dat de vrijdag training blijft.Het tenslotte ook om de fans die de auto's willen zien rijden. Maar waarom geen fan uurtje erbij waarbij de coureurs naar een tribune gaan en daar met de fans op de foto's kunnen gaan. Dan hebben ze ook nog eens waar voor hun geld.

  Ben ook blij dat de vrijdag training blijft.Het tenslotte ook om de fans die de auto's willen zien rijden. Maar waarom geen fan uurtje erbij waarbij de coureurs naar een tribune gaan en daar met de fans op de foto's kunnen gaan. Dan hebben ze ook nog eens waar voor hun geld.

  Goede suggestie @Audi, of op de vrijdag de fans tussen de 2 trainingen en na de laatste training toegang geven tot de pitlane en omgeving van de teamhomes

Het puntensysteem zou ik niet veranderen.
Als je punten geeft t/m positie 15 (of hoger), dan heb je een grote kans om daadwerkelijk in de punten rijden.
Het is wel leuk als punten krijgt, maar niet zo spannend.
Punten geven t/m positie 10 , dan ga je echt voor racen, want het wordt een stukje moeilijker, dan moet het Team nog beter best doen om het te gaan halen, om van je rivalen te winnen,

  Ik ben groot voorstander van het Moto GP puntensysteem, waar de top 15 punten krijgt. Met het huidige F1 puntensysteem zetten coureurs vanaf p12 hun auto's in de spaarstand omdat er weinig tot niks meer te winnen valt. Het F1 veld telt slechts 20 auto's, dus met een verandering van het systeem t/m p15 zal iedereen in het achterveld automatisch bljven pushen tot diep in de finale, wat zeker meer gevechten zal opleveren.

Nu nog zorgen voor aanpassingen aan de regels wat betreft banden en motoren zodat teams meer gaan rijden op vrijdag

Blij toe, heeft toch altijd wel wat als het vrijdags weer begint, eigenlijk wel de perfect opbouw voor een leuk race-weekend... Maar ja, waarschijnlijk ziet LM liever een paar kreunende rappers op vrijdag ipv die vervelende auto,s

Het zou ze sieren als ze er voor zouden zorgen dat het veld dichter bij elkaar komt. Dat kan alleen maar door het financiële gat tussen top en flop te verkleinen. Een goed begin zou het eerlijker verdelen van het prijzengeld zijn. Jammer genoeg lees ik daar dan weer helemaal niets over.
