Russell opent tweede week voor Williams, Kubica sluit af

Williams heeft haar opstelling voor de tweede week van de wintertests in Barcelona bekend gemaakt. George Russell zal de week voor het Britse team openen, Robert Kubica sluit de week af.

De eerste week van de tests verliep verre van soepel voor Williams. Het team kwam slechts tot 88 ronden, nadat de eerste twee dagen overgeslagen moesten worden. De FW42 was nog niet af en kwam woensdagochtend pas aan op het circuit, waardoor er op woensdag pas na de lunch gereden kon worden. Afgelopen week kreeg Russell de eer om de nieuwe bolide als eerste aan de tand te voelen, Kubica kwam donderdagmiddag pas in actie.

Voor de tweede week is die verdeling bij Williams weer hetzelfde. Russell opent dinsdag de week en neemt vervolgens ook de donderdag voor zijn rekening. Kubica zit deze week op woensdag voor het eerst in de auto en sluit op vrijdag de week af. Daarmee hanteert Williams dezelfde rotatie als Red Bull Racing en Haas F1. Gasly en Magnussen rijden op dezelfde dagen als Russell, Verstappen en Grosjean tegelijk met Kubica.

Ik ben best wel nieuwsgierig wat nou de beweegreden voor een team is om één of twee coureurs op een dag te laten rijden.
