Helmut Marko: "Niki Lauda heeft meer tijd nodig voordat hij terugkeert in de Formule 1"

Niki Lauda heeft meer tijd nodig voor een rentree op de paddock. Vorige week kwam zijn zoon Mathias al met een verklaring over de gezondheidstoestand van de voormalige wereldkampioen, gisteren sprak Helmut Marko over zijn landgenoot.

Marko gaf toe dat hij zijn ontbijtmaatje mist tijdens de test in Barcelona. Hoewel de twee rivalen zijn binnen de top van de Formule 1, zegt Marko een 'respectvolle vriendschap' te hebben met Lauda. "Het is een onbekende situatie voor mij nu. Ik ben eenzaam bij het ontbijt en er is niemand die hem kan vervangen", vertelde Marko tijdens een gesprek met RTL Deutschland.

De hoop was groot dat Lauda, vorige week 70 jaar geworden, eindelijk terug kon keren naar de paddock na zijn longtransplantatie van vorig jaar. Marko geeft aan dat de Mercedes-Chairman meer tijd nodig heeft: "God zij dank is hij beter, maar het zal enige tijd duren voordat hij onder de mensen kan zijn."

De arts (Walter Klepetko) van Lauda zei vorige week dat Lauda niet de transcontinentale vlucht naar Melbourne kan nemen: "De grote menigten zijn altijd een potentiële bedreiging van besmetting." Lauda heeft veel support gehad sinds zijn afwezigheid op de paddock. Sebastian Vettel nam de tijd om met een emotionele handgeschreven brief duidelijk te maken aan Lauda dat hij hoopt hem snel terug te zien op de paddock.

Vind ik toch echt mooi als hij dat daadwerkelijk zo gezegd heeft:

Het toont maar weer eens aan dat zo'n longtrasplantatie niet iets is van ff naar het ziekenhuis en dan weer verder. Ik hoop echter wel van harte dat hij er op een dag weer bij kan zijn en niet tussentijds ergens anders weer een besmetting oploopt.

  Hier sluit ik me graag bij aan.
  
  Een besmetting, hoe onschuldig dan ook voor gezonde mensen, kan voor hem zomaar fataal zijn. Dan kun je beter geduldig zijn en voor de zekerheid nog wat langer de tijd nemen om aan te sterken. Mooi ook dat Marko de vriendschap waardeert.

Hebben ze het over de mensen maar daar had ik nog niet eens aan gedacht, ik zou eerder denken dat de drukverschillen bij het vliegen een probleem zijn.
Als je een duikvakantie hebt gehad dan moet je ook rekening houden met de vlucht terug in je duikschema.
