Jarno Trulli vindt dat Antonio Giovinazzi voorzichtig moet zijn

Opnieuw heeft een voormalige Italiaanse Formule 1-coureur Antonio Giovinazzi aangespoord om voorzichtig te zijn in 2019. Enkele dagen geleden vertelde Giancarlo Fisichella al dat Giovinazzi 'marge moet houden' in zijn debuutjaar voor Alfa Romeo Racing.

"Hij moet in de eerste races voorzichtig zijn en uitvalbeurten voorkomen", zei de voormalige Renault-coureur. In een gesprek met het Italiaanse AutoMoto is Jarno Trulli het eens met Fisichella. "Antonio moet goed beginnen door geen schade te rijden", zei hij. "Blijf dicht in de buurt van Kimi Raikkonen en leer zo snel mogelijk. Antonio moet wel marge houden."

"Ik weet dat dat heel moeilijk is om uit te voeren, maar het is Formule 1 en als hij niet laat zijn dat hij de juiste kwaliteiten heeft, zullen ze hem niet de tijd geven om het goed te maken. Formule 1 is keihard", voegde Trulli toe.

Trulli heeft een advies voor zijn jonge landgenoot: "Mijn advies is dat hij de eerste vier à vijf races met een veilige moet rijden. Hij moet in elk geval niet elk weekend 110% geven." Trulli denkt dat Kimi Raikkonen een uitstekende teamgenoot is voor Giovinazzi: "Van wat ik heb gezien heeft Alfa Romeo een goede auto. Hij heeft een ervaren teamgenoot als referentiepunt. Als hij vanaf het begin achter de feiten aanloopt is het nog geen probleem. Hij moet zich ontwikkelen en met beleid zijn snelheid verhogen", sloot de Italiaanse Grand Prix-winnaar af.

Ondanks dat ik fan was van Fisico en uiteraard alle Italiaanse coureurs met luide stem aanmoedig ben ik het niet met ze eens.
Alfa zal hoogstwaarschijnlijk in het middenveld opereren, daar is het druk en zijn de gevechten vaak fel, dus hoe zou Gio dan niet alles moeten geven en zijn snelheid langzaam opbouwen? Of, God verhoedde, veilig rijden.
Ik zou hem zeggen alles te geven, trap dat pedaal naar de bodem, niet achteruit kijken en elke wagen die voor je rijd is je volgende doel.

  Eens! Juist in het middenveld loont het iets meer om risico te nemen en een keer een P6 of P7 te pakken, dan dat je bijvoorbeeld 3x binnen komt op P10.

  Ik begrijp hieruit dat met snelheid opbouwen wordt bedoeld dat Gio niet meteen vanaf FP1 volle gas gaat en niet moet crashen tijdens de vrijdag en of zaterdag... Maar wel in de buurt van Kimi op de zaterdag. En dat kan door goed naar het team te luisteren en kijken naar data van Kimi.
  
  Maar ik kan t ook helemaal mis hebben natuurlijk, maar zo’n Monaco weekend als Max vorig jaar wil je gewoon niet en de twee landgenoten willen Gio daar voor behoeden.

Het mag een wonder heten dat Giovinazzi überhaupt een 2e kans heeft gehad nadat hij in 2017 twee Saubers en 1 Haas platreed.

  Precies dit, als Gio dit jaar zn auto niet door eigen fout in de muur rijdt en rond Kimi blijft finishen, dan blijft zijn imago nog enigszins intact. Rijdt hij em plat in race 1, dan zal stempel Crashtor 2 heel dicht op zn voorhoofd komen te staan

  Waarom klinkt dat altijd zo negatief over Trulli, bekijk het eens van de andere kant , Trulli is gewoon super goed in het achter zich houden van snellere auto,s ;)

  Zucht... de Trulli train ontstond alleen omdat Jarno zo'n kwalificatiebeesd was dat hij er in de kwalificaties veel meer uithaalde dan er eigenlijk in de auto zat.
  Tijdens de races kon dat niet en kwam de ware aard van de auto naar voren. De train ontstond omdat er coureurs in veel snellere auto's achter Trulli moesten starten maar niet de capaciteiten hadden hem makkelijk in te halen.

In de buurt van Kimi blijven en marge houden, good luck. Je bent snel enkele tienden kwijt indien je niet maximaal remt en uitaccelereert, per bocht.
