Steiner hoopt op vooruitgang bij Strategy-Group vergadering

Rich Energy Haas-teambaas Günther Steiner betwijfelt of alles wat de Formule 1 moet oplossen om het 2021-regelspakket af te ronden tijdens de vergadering kan worden bereikt.

Op dinsdag komt de Strategy Group (bestaande uit: Formule 1, de FIA en de zes beste teams) bijeen in London om de ideeën te bespreken en te stemmen. Daarna volgt een vergadering van de Formule 1-commissie, waaraan alle belanghebbenden deelnemen en stemmen.

FIA-voorzitter Jean Todt heeft aangegeven dat er vooruitgang is geboekt met een oplossing voor 2021. Dat zal tijdens de vergadering duidelijk worden gemaakt.

Steiner, in gesprek met Autosport vertelde: "We hebben duidelijkheid nodig, want er wordt veel gepraat. Ik denk dat Chase nu klaar is om iets aan ons te kunnen presenteren en laten we eens kijken wat hij presenteert. Ik weet niet wat er in staat. We praten allemaal om elkaar heen en ik weet dus niet of het überhaupt iets heeft opgeleverd."

De teambaas vertelde dat het voor de teams belangrijk is om zo snel mogelijk duidelijkheid te hebben van de regels omdat men zich moet voorbereiden op het seizoen 2021. "Wij moeten weten wat er in de toekomst gaat gebeuren, anders kunnen wij onze zaken niet in werking stellen. Je kunt niet beginnen met ontwikkelen als je geen technische voorschriften hebt."

"Voor ons begint het seizoen al minstens anderhalf jaar eerder. We zijn nu 21 maanden verwijderd van het seizoen 2021 en je hebt dus niet veel tijd meer over. Ik denk dat ze dat beseffen en daarom hebben gezegd: "We moeten met iets komen". Maar er zijn heel wat dingen, het bestuur, de begroting, het budgetlimiet en de technische voorschriften. Als we het allemaal in één vergadering voor elkaar krijgen is het goed voor ons."

Toen Steiner werd gevraagd of de teams hadden gehoord over enkele elementen van het technische pakket zei hij: "Ja, we hebben er over gehoord, maar er is geen overeenkomst, er is nog geen pakket. Hopelijk krijgen we iets op 26 maart."

Wat de afgelopen 10 jaar nu toch wel bewezen heeft is dat dit "we praten er met z'n allen over" aanpak niet werkt!

Democratie werkt niet in deze. Je moet gewoon een dictoriale organisatie hebben die de regels vaststeld. En daar heb je het als deelnemende teams maar mee te doen.

Wat de afgelopen 10 jaar nu toch wel bewezen heeft is dat dit "we praten er met z'n allen over" aanpak niet werkt!

  Ze moeten luisteren naar de teams, en naar hun ideeën.
  En ze kunnen deze ideeën meenemen in hun besluit.
  Maar ze moeten zelf beslissen waar het naartoe moet.
  Wij leven in een democratie, en wij mogen stemmen.
  Maar de uiteindelijke beslissingen worden genomen door de gekozen instanties.

Ieder team dient haar eigen wensen.
Er komt dus helemaal niets van terecht en het blijft allemaal zoals het blijft want elk voorstel wordt van tafel geveegt.

Zoals Danny al zei een brief met regels uitscrhijven en de teams moeten aan de bak.
Geen weerwoord, geen politieke spelletjes.

Bevalt het je niet ? daar is het gat van de deur.

Probleem is dat dan Todt weer een grote vinger in de pap krijgt en die is al verantwoordelijk voor de zinloze groene motor formule van nu.
