Formule 1 houdt zondag eerbetoon aan Niki Lauda

Komende zondag zal de Formule 1-wereld een eerbetoon houden aan de overleden Niki Lauda. De drievoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 overleed maandagavond in het bijzijn van zijn familie, aan de gevolgen van een dubbele longoperatie vorig jaar. Na de operatie kreeg hij last van de griep en nierfalen en uiteindelijk volgde zijn plotselinge overlijden.

Eerbetoon aan Niki Lauda

Er zal op de startopstelling voor de Grand Prix van Monaco 1 minuut stilte gehouden worden om 14:53 uur. De 20 Formule 1-coureurs en hoogwaardigheidsbekleders die meestal aan de vooraan de grid staan voor het volkslied van de gastland, zij die een speciale rol speelden in Lauda's carrière - zijn tijdgenoten en zijn collega's, zullen elk met een rode pet tonen als eerbetoon aan de Oostenrijkse kampioen.

Formule 1, de FIA, de Automobile Club de Monaco en alle tien Formule 1-teams willen alle fans die de Grand Prix van Monaco bezoeken, uitnodigen om hun eigen eerbetoon te brengen aan de coureur die in 1975 en 1976 de race in het Prinsendom won. Ze kunnen een rode pet dragen, een boodschap op een spandoek tonen, of gewoon applaudisseren, terwijl de fans die kijken vanaf de jachten in de haven de claxons van hun jacht kunnen laten klinken. Alles wat gepast is om te eren ter herinnering aan een van de echte helden van de Formule 1.

Ik vind het wel heel vreemd dat er op het podium na de F2 race met champagne werd gespoten, dat zou de FIA dit weekend in elke raceklasse (onder hun vlag) niet moeten toestaan imo. Druk die gasten dan een toeter in de klauwen ofzo.

  Met alle respect voor Lauda, maar ik ben het niet helemaal met je eens. Lauda was een F1 legende, geen F2.... Misschien een beetje sheef, maar dan kun je in de voetbal ook wel een minuut stilte houden.

Komt wel goed. Tuurlijk kan niet iedereen muisstil zijn,maar het gebaar is mooi, en als ze dan na die minuut heel veel herrie maken is de missie wel geslaagd inmijn ogen.

  @NEP: Ik weet niet of je wel eens een minuut stilte in een voetbalstadion hebt meegemaakt??? Het kan echt wel hoor.... Bij Ajax met Nouri was het ook superstil, dat je er kippenvel van kreeg.... Ook de tegenstanders toonden hun respect...
