Gridstraf voor Giovinazzi en Gasly na ophouden concurrenten in kwalificatie

Antonio Giovinazzi mag zijn vijftiende startpositie voor de Grand Prix van Monaco niet houden. De Alfa Romeo-coureur krijgt een gridstraf van 3 plaatsen voor het ophouden van Nico Hülkenberg tijdens de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Monaco. Ook Pierre Gasly is tegen een gridstraf aangelopen.

Het incident tussen Giovinazzi en Hülkenberg vond plaats tijdens Q1 van de kwalificatie in Monaco. Giovinazzi reed langzaam door de laatste bochtencombinatie, terwijl Hülkenberg op volle snelheid aan kwam stormen tijdens zijn snelle ronde. De Renault-coureur moest vol in de ankers om een botsing met de Alfa Romeo te voorkomen en moest daardoor zijn snelle ronde afbreken.

Beide coureurs moesten zich bij de stewards komen verantwoorden voor het incident en daar werd Giovinazzi als schuldige aangewezen. De Italiaan moet daardoor drie plaatsen op de startgrid inleveren en krijgt daarnaast een strafpunt op zijn licentie. De stewards verklaarden het volgende: "De coureur van auto 99 reed tussen bochten 16 en 18 toen hij extreem laat geattendeerd werd dat auto 27 achter hem reed. Op dat moment reed hij in het midden van de baan en hield hij auto 27 duidelijk op."

"De stewards namen in overweging dat auto 99 een opwarmronde reed en dat hij de kans had om meer ruimte te geven, ongeacht of hij een waarschuwing van het team kreeg. Ook het team had de kans om hem beter te waarschuwen. De stewards bepaalden daarom dat het ophouden onnodig was en delen een gridstraf van 3 plaatsen uit, in lijn met eerdere beslissingen in vergelijkbare gevallen."

Ook straf voor Gasly

Niet veel later kwam ook de bevestiging dat Pierre Gasly tegen een gridstraf van drie plaatsen is aangelopen. De Franse coureur van Red Bull Racing krijgt die straf voor hetzelfde vergrijp als Giovinazzi. In Q2 hield Gasly Romain Grosjean op, die mede daardoor Q3 niet wist te bereiken. Gasly zal de race daardoor als achtste moeten aanvangen en niet vanaf de vijfde positie.

Vooral stom en chauvinistisch gelul hierboven. Was niet de fout van van Gasly, maar van zijn team die hem niet op de hoogte hield mbt de snelle ronde van Grosjean. Maar de RBR blunder was in ieder geval niet zo groot als die van Ferrari.

Nou schiet weer lekker op voor RB als dit inderdaad gebeurt 0.4 langzamer toch 5e en dan als 8e moeten starten vanwege weer een onnodige straf.

  Zowel Gio als Pierre liepen te klooien en als je ziet dat Seb zonder problemen een outlap kan doen met 1:30 te gaan dan is het pure onzin dat je mensen in de weg zit en hun kwali verneukt. Helemaal als je vervolgens straf krijgt en je team benadeeld.
  Wederom -1 voor Pierre en Gio dit weekend en beide zijn wat mij betreft hard op weg naar de uitgang.
  Slechtste coureur van het veld:
  1. Lance
  2. Kubica (kan hem vergeven en probeert het tenminste)
  3. Giovinazzi
  4. Gasly
  5. Grosjean
  
  Alle vijf mogen zsm weg om een ander de kans te geven. GP3 niveau.

  Er is wel het een en ander ingecalculeerd omdat men wist dat de promotie van Gasly eigenlijk te vroeg is gekomen , maar een team als Red Bull moet serieus gaan overwegen om iemand van het Kaliber Hulkenberg of misschien wel weer een Vergne (Eigenlijk vond ik hem niet zo slecht) in dat zitje te plaatsen als dit zo doorgaat , misschien is Wehrlein ook een optie , wat hij uit die auto perstte was eigenlijk ook best wel goed
  
  Nu lijkt Pierre eindelijk wat dichterbij te komen op tijd , gaat ie van die stomme fouten maken

  Het grote voordeel voor Vettel was dat er bijna niemand meer op de baan was.
  Als hij in zijn snelle opwarmronde last van verkeer had gehad had hij het misschien ook niet gered.
  Maar mede door die gehaaste opwarm ronde waren zijn banden optimaal op temperatuur.

  Iedereen legt het af tegen deze Verstappen. Dus veel maakt het niet uit. Ferrari moet te doen zijn in zin eentje.

  veertheman ik weet niet wie zijn fout het was ik neem aan jij ook niet tenzij je in de RB box was maar het zijn gewoon stomme slordigheden die niet mogen gebeuren.
  Dit was de kans om in te lopen op Ferrari en die verkloot je weer.
