Steiner steunt roep om terugkeer banden 2018: "Het is nu een Kinder Surprise"

Een van de belangrijkste gespreksonderwerpen in het seizoen 2019 zijn de banden van Pirelli. Haas F1-teambaas Günther Steiner is daar klaar mee en steunt het idee om terug te keren naar de bandensamenstelling die in 2018 gebruikt werd.

Voorafgaand aan het seizoen 2019 werden er banden met een dunner loopvlak geïntroduceerd. Deze banden zouden minder snel moeten oververhitten dan de compounds van 2018 en zorgen voor minder blaarvorming. Red Bull Racing en Ferrari hebben al opgeroepen om de banden van vorig seizoen weer van stal te halen en Steiner, teambaas van het team dat dit jaar het meest geplaagd wordt door bandenproblemen, ziet dat wel zitten.

"Vorig jaar was de band niet perfect. Ik zou niet zeggen dat de band vorig jaar fantastisch was, maar we willen nu wel terug naar die variant. Ik sta erachter om ernaar te kijken en een band te gebruiken waarbij er niet altijd over de banden gepraat wordt. We moeten het over het racen, crashende auto's en dergelijke hebben."

Progressie niet zichtbaar door bandenproblemen

Haas en Steiner hebben dit jaar meermaals geklaagd over het rubber, vooral omdat het team moeite heeft om de banden in het juiste window te krijgen. De Italiaan stelt dat de geboekte progressie hierdoor niet zichtbaar is. "Je boekt progressie, maar het is geen zichtbare progressie die je ergens anders ook kan herhalen. Iedere keer is het iets nieuws."

"Je boekt progressie tijdens het weekend, maar wat je hier leert in een weekend betekent niet dat je het voor 100% toe kan passen op de volgende. Dat is het lastige. Het is als een Kinder Surprise: wat zit er deze keer in? Je reageert sneller, omdat je beter weet wat de banden doen. Daarop reageer je, maar voorspellen wat we in Frankrijk moeten doen? Geen idee."

  Da's jammer voor hen maar ik zie liever close racing dan dat ze op afstand moeten rijden om de banden niet overhit te laten raken zoals vorig seizoen.
  Het is ook een nood oplossing, de banden zijn en blijven het probleem.

Nu zit je op de wip wat ook een kinderverzetje is, zo gaat het ook met bandjes wisselen.

Wees eens blij dat je bandjes op de bolide kunt zetten, zo niet dan ga je toch af dingen bij Pirelli als alle teams dat nu eens gingen doen, de inkomsten van Pirelli gaan flink terug, dan wil Pirelli wel luisteren....

Ik denk dat er een parlementaire komt..?..waaruit naar voren komt dat er een sterke Merc -lobby bestaat met wereldwijde vertakkingen naar o.a. de Vrijmetselaars, Noord-Korea en Rob Kamphues.

Door Merc zijn de banden veranderd omdat Merc in 2018 blaarvorming had toen hebben ze in 2 of 3 races
in 2018 op banden gereden die dunner waren en dat ging zeer goed bij Merc en hebben ze in 2019
de banden ingevoerd op aandringen van Merc en nu klagen er 9 teams over die banden dus Pirreli doe nu ook eens 2 of 3 races
met de banden die in 2018 werden gereden en kijken hoe dat uitpakt dat zou eerlijk zijn tegen over bijna al de teams die er over klagen

Precies, strak plan.... Geeft gelijk aan dat er wel meer teams niet bepaald happy zijn met de “made by Pirelli, designed by Mercedes’’ banden... En niet alleen gezeur ban RB cq Marko....
