Leclerc ziet onaantastbare Mercedessen in kwalificatie op Paul Ricard

De beste Ferrari in de kwalificatie in Frankrijk was Charles Leclerc. De Monegask vond dat Mercedes onaantastbaar was op het Circuit Paul Ricard en zag P3 dan ook als het maximaal haalbare.

Het hele weekend heeft Ferrari zich nog niet echt kunnen meten met Mercedes, met uitzondering van de tweede vrije training. Ook in de kwalificatie lukte het de Ferrari's niet om een vuist te maken tegen de Zilverpijlen. Sebastian Vettel werd teleurstellend zevende in de kwalificatie, terwijl Leclerc als enige coureur binnen een seconde van Mercedes op P3 eindigde.

"Mercedes is dit weekend onaantastbaar geweest. Ik ben redelijk blij met mijn ronde, maar helaas was het vandaag niet genoeg. We moeten hard blijven werken, want ik weet zeker dat er een moment komt dat we het gat gedicht hebben. Voor vandaag is dit echter het beste wat we konden doen", vertelde Leclerc na de kwalificatie.

Start is moment dat Leclerc wil toeslaan

Leclerc denkt dat de start van de race het enige moment is dat hij zich echt kan bemoeien met de strijd om de leiding. "Het doel is absoluut om me in de eerste ronde in het gevecht te mengen. Een goede start zal dus erg belangrijk zijn. Wij zijn sterk op de rechte stukken, terwijl zij erg sterk zijn in de bochten. Ik hoop nu met ze te kunnen strijden, want in Bahrein kon dat niet. Hopelijk wordt het morgen een mooie race."

Winnen zal zeer waarschijnlijk toch niet lukken , maar deze kwalificatie was goed van Charles , misschien is nu die stijgende lijn zichtbaar bij hem , wil het wel nog even afwachten tot morgen

Niemand weet hoe sterk de mercedes zijn tijdens de race na de eerste bocht ligt de volgorde vast en rijden ze gewoon de race uit ,wat hun voorsprong zou zijn indien bottas en hamilton echt tegen elkaar racen zou ik wel eens willen zien 1 ronde? Ik verdenk ze ervan dit te kunnen maar omdat dit de F1 nog meer schade zou kunnen toe brengen doen ze het niet
